Zipline Ep. *13* Summary

Alright, sorry this is late, I was, well..Sleeping. lol. Anyway, here it is (for what it's worth :P)

And if someone already posted this...Well, call him a copy-cat ;) *Grimace is a theif!*

Suppression will be faction neutral in the "near future"


Double XP in Directives is a "semi-permanent" idea. Meaning that there isn't a plan to turn it off as off now.

 

When will we see the next patch?: Sometime in a couple weeks

 

What will be in it?: Some more faction neutrality stuff (if not already turned on), allow better patching, more fixes. And there will be an overview of "patch v1.07" next week on blog.

 

Patch v1.08: Not a lot of details yet, 3 factioned gameplay, and messing around with skill tree.

 

In MAG, will the ATAC's foregrip ever be fixed? In v1.07, the ATAC will be tuned with. And the ATAC may get the ability to get a foregrip.

 

Will Acq/Dom go neutral? And will the Shadow War idea be scrapped?: If people like the neutrality, then yes; Acq/Dom will probably be faction neutral. It probably will happen, but not guaranteed. The Shadow War will still be in effect.

 

Is Gamestop the only retailer that gives SOCOM exclusives with pre-orders?: Any retailer will give the shotgun, but only Gamestop will give 'Abandoned'.

 

Will MAG footsoldiers ever be able to plant explosives on APC?: YES! Hopefully soon, they will have them. Not in v1.07, maybe not even in v1.08 though. :(

 

Will APCs ever get a quick seat selection?: Not in the "very near future," but it will change. He just doesn't know when.

 

What can we know about next game mode in MAG?: The new game type will be a 3 factioned mode, all going for the same objective. Similar to 'Sabotage,' and they are having a lot of fun with it.

 

Will different countries get the Navy SEALs swapped out for more region appropriate soldiers?: Yes. Like if you buy SOCOM 4 in Australia, then the SEALs will be SASR troops.

 

Burst fire in MAG: It is effective on how you hit the button now, may but a button for firing modes in the future.

 

*This question gets a different color because it was asked by yours truly ;)*

 

9 New guns?: 3 per PMC, an Assault Rifle for each PMC, a medium Sniper Rifle for each PMC, and a new medium Machine Gun for each PMC. All brand new weapons, won't be seeing anymore redesigned weapons (like the Mod 1)

 

When will we get SOCOM 4 multiplayer?: "We can't tell you yet" (lol) ... But they say "it rocks."

 

Will MAG ever have an extended 'waypoint' system?: There will be more waypoints in the future. Squad leaders setting multiple waypoints, OIC/PL waypoints, etc. Likes the grid idea on the MAG forums.

 

Will MAG's CNI be more 'user friendly'?: Not any plans for CNI development right now.

 

Will SOOCOM 4 have dedicated guns per 'faction'?: Yes. But you can pick them up off the ground.


Will MAG veterans get perks?: Yes. Veteran benefits are being worked on. Stuff like increased 'cc' ... more ammo, xp/leadership stuff. No set details as of now.

 

Assault Rifle/Sniper Rifle's foregrip will be fixed in v1.07.

 

Any plans to alter MAG's Acquisition mode?: YES. They have ideas, but won't talk about it. Because their plans may not work.

 

Will SOCOM 4 characters ever be changed for the mission? Not really time in the story to 'change clothes'.

 

Any new maps for existing game modes in MAG? Yes. But not soon.

 

New MAG weapon attachments soon?: Not yet. Sometime, but not in the "near future." Like maybe a shotgun attachment instead of a grenade launcher.

 

Will there be victory dancing in SOCOM 4's multiplayer?: YES!!!

 

New strikes being thought about in MAG?: Yes. But not working on them.

 

Any thoughts on capping the amount of times someone can be revived on MAG?:Not really anything being thought about. Talked about mobility while bleeding out, and ability to use pistol back in the beta.

 

How many hits does it take to kill in SOCOM 4?: Roughly 3 bullets to the body with an Assault Rifle right now.

 

Will there ever be a 'vote to demote' someone in MAG?: Probably yes, think it's a good change.


Chances are that Zipper would make the player physics in MAG different?: No. They won't allow that, it'd mess up the hit detection.


Why is the main character wearing jeans in SOCOM 4: The main characters were caught off-guard. You'll see when you play the game.

 

Any additional game modes that will support 256 players?: There's stuff on paper that they may get to, so it's possible. But nothing being built.

 

Any chance exisiting MAG maps could be used for different game modes?: Been looking into it, would like to do it. But not any plans on doing it.

 

How do you revive players in SOCOM 4?: Run to the downed enemy, and hold action button over him.

 

Ammo increases in MAG. Will it happen?: Yes. Impending out in v1.07, more magazines in all guns (except LMG) ... and more ammo packs in the future as gear items.

 

Redoing skills tree class in MAG.

 

Is there a fire mode in Socom 4? (Like burst,single,auto): Yes.

 

Rudi on MAG?: He respecs all the time. Just finished using SMGs/Shotguns, keep an eye out for more shotgun consistency. He like the LMG/Bipod class. And he likes Copper Hills Relay. And he is a "ninja."

 

Can Zipper make the APCs better in the start of MAG?: Working on fixing it without blowing up the game.


SOCOM 4's maps are supposedly the same size as SOCOM 3's maps. On online, or single player?: Both. Also has "smallest maps" in SOCOM history.

 

Are they working on the 'Vote to Kick' option in MAG?: Yes. They are working on polishing it. Probably in v1.08, they will turn off friendly fire by objectives.

 

Will there be a MAG training mode for leadership?: They aren't working on it. But yes, they want to work on teaching people leadership.

 

Will the animals in SOCOM 4 be destructible?!: Yes. They are destructible. You even get a trophy for it!

 

What does Zipper plan on doing for helicopters?: Rudi added more health to them, and Ben Jones made them come back and land faster.

    Cool, all 3 factions going for the same objective sounds like fun.  Doubt there will be any "teaming up" with that being the case.

    **bleep** yeah to vet perks (more cc), more ammo for everything except LMGs, turning off friendly fire near objectives & the changes coming to the skill tree. I hope they're seperating the attachments from the weapons. Good **bleep**.

    i've said it before and i'll say it again no vet perks.

    too much of a difference for the low levels already.

    not everyone wants to level up or has the time to do it. Some have little patience so how can we expect new people to join the game if they are getting frustrated at some guys that constantly use their extended swing on him. or better yet turn a corner to only take one grenade throw and be bled out.

    I totally agree with no vet perks that will give vets an extra advantage, but giving us an extra item of clothing or something is fine by me.

What's funny is that everyone has infinite patience in BFBC2 and MW2, but in MAG, it's just too strategical and hardcore for them.


     

    My comments are in red.

     

    I think that they should steal one from MW2 and allow us to have extra loadouts when we vet. The loadouts have the same c limit, but you get one extra for every two times you vet, with a maximum of 10 total loadouts. That doesn't give you an actual combat advantage, it just allows you to be ready for more different situations.

    Most of the stuff about MAG discussed i am all for, but what bothers me is they they are adding more AR's, more sniper rifles, and more LMG's but no SMG's, and each faction only has 1 SMG so it seems like it should be a priority.

    I was SO stoked to hear my name on the zipline :D Glad they answered that question too. It really irks me, since my group is almost always on a helicopter side of the map

    Don't want neutrality for Acqui or Dom...love it in Sabo, but I want those to stay as they are...

    Im kinda QQ about vet perks. Cause I have never Vetted, but I've been level 60 for a long time. I would have vetted had I known I'd get a bonus. I hope its like COD where you just need to vet once to get the perks.
