That would be pretty cool.  Its funny when 2 people are melee-ing eachother, funny in a "this looks dumb" sort of way.  Some animations would definitely spice things up.  If they could make an evade feature to duck under a rifle melee it would add a lot more strategy to close quarters encounters instead of both people just mashing on square until one or both of you die.

This is possibly the greatest thing I've heard on the boards!

Only problem is that people with slower internet like me will be screwed most likely. Cause soemone will ALWAYS evade in time and I won't be able to.

what i hate the most is when i shoot someone with a few bullets go punch them, they punch me, i punch them killing them and they kill me ??

I could understand if we had the same amount of health but if the person who initiates the first punch has more health the the other person then they should live. Its really random

What's even worse is when you punch someone after shooting them...and they punch you after you die...but you get an Afterlife. Happens to me ALL the time...I don't mind cause at least I'm getting $500out of it.

Yeah at first in the first beta, I was all for having a brutal combo system with a counter but I soon realized that would be pretty bad with lag, with timed button presses.

However, I really think my suggestion on the first post would remain fairly close to whats currently in place yet still improve the gameplay closer to the SP and be ultimately more fun.

The running punch animation from SP would be simple enough to implement, as they already have that animation. Although it shouldn't retain the same movement speed and should be slower than the run, but being able to control your character and not have to wait until the animation finishes would be great and bring the online up several notches.

And also the hand to hand finisher animations also wouldn't be too hard to implement. They already have the neck snap and ledge pull and kick off animation systems and this would be perfect using that system. If a player is below 50% health, the animation would kick in, in the same way as a neck snap or kick off animation. You know the awesome animations like the drop kick, superman punch, slide punch, headbutt, haymaker. It would pretty much be the same as it is now, with just improved animations, and would look and play closer to the SP, and would be alot better than the animations and gameplay now.

I hope they do this....they dont fix their glitches though, so I dont really see any of this happening...the only thing I didnt like was the DTI, seeing as how I use that the most....nerfing it would just make it useless... (seriously, without DTI bullets go flying everywhere...it doesnt matter how well you aim...without DTI I cant go full auto like I usually do)

Thanks for commenting. DTI to me just seems like an unbalanced booster, It seems its almost integral, they need to tweak it somehow. Personally, I don't like the idea of boosters in Uncharted, as I don't feel it adds anything important to the gameplay. I play without any boosters, and would want a boosterless playlist, as I mentioned I feel that removing the slowdown effect from DTI would even be more balanced. It wouldn't change the accuracy improvements but wouldn't give the players using it the extra advantage of slowing doen the person they are shooting at. I really feel that the hand to hand should really be improved as its a large part of Uncharted's character and gameplay and it would be worth improving as its, to me, a glaring weak point for online as compared to SP.

There will never be more than a 1 motion animation because of online connection not being united around the world. Until everyone in the world has a unified signal you never see anymore prolonged animations in a online game.

Yeah, I realize its hard to have completely synced animations, but having the run and punch animation from SP wouldn't need to be synced. In killzone 2 when you press melee you can still control your character and move and it is not synced and works fine and would also work fine in Uncharted 2, seeing as they already have the animation, however the movement shouldn't be as fast as regular for balance. But even just being able to move your character while punching without having to wait for the animation to finish before moving would improve the melee alot.

As for the second part of my suggestion for the finisher animations, all I was suggesting was that they use the same system used for the neck snaps and ledge pulls and kick offs. Those work alright when playing, and using that same system if you press punch to an enemy and thier health is down 50% it would just do the drop kick or superman punch working the same way as a neck snap or ledge pull. I feel that would work and bring the online closer to the gameplay of SP. Not to mention it would be awesome to get a picture of that.haha

Arne, would do you think about this? Please maybe pass some of these suggestions on to other ND's and see if this could be done. I think it would really improve the gameplay closer to the SP and be more fun, ultimately.

 Thanks
