Mmm, that's not necessarily a good idea.

I think forumers that have posted a substantial amount of "good" content and posts could have more "abilities" than lesser "known" members.

At 1,000 posts you can "flag" posts.

At 2,000 posts you can "warn" users.

At 3,000 posts you can "set up a poll to lock a thread."

At 4,000 posts you can "set up a ban for a user."

At 5,000 posts you can "lock a thread."

At 10,000 posts you can "ban an user for set amount of time."

Not a good idea, because it would promote spamming.

Certain people have many posts, because they treat the forums like a chat box... Smiley Indifferent

Quality != quantity

Solution: SCEA should hire more people. Plain and simple.

SCEA should just ask for volunteers, so that they don't need to pay anyone so that there will be no excuses.

@tapantaola

It sucks the post counts, kudo counts, and tagging doesn't mean anything because of all the abuse.

Eventually post count and kudos will be remove from this section of the forums just like tagging was because of all the abuse Smiley Sad

Trawnza has said that they don't want volunteer mods, because they could go "rogue".

SCEA makes a lot of money, so they shouldn't be cheapskates. Hire more mods and reduce unemployment. Smiley Wink

Just make scootgar or DAG a mod.

If you think something is impossible, you’ll make it impossible.

Problem is then you may end up with more spam people posting just to get those rights.

I need about 2000 posts. I'd be pretty fast in posting garbage for the ability to ban Smiley Tongue

There is no one here who should have the mod right really though. Yes, I could do it, So could many others. But it would make people very sour more than likely if they didn't have it.

I actually don't want it, I'd gladly let someone else have it. Not everyone will see it that way though. If I did want it I'd probably be immensely annoyed at not getting it.

What we really need is a moderator that pays more attention to this board, Sony need to push through a moderator for each board that works 7 days a week. At the end of the day a forum is an extension of that company to it's users, if it looks like garbage in any section it appears that said company does not care for it's users.

Solution: Hire more people.
