Are you talking about a custom game? I've been playing it in pubs fine, but I haven't tried a custom. I've seen some posts about other maps failing to load. Hopefully that's one of the tech issues they'll fix in 1.15.

Duke never said if he fixed it or not...you could try messaging him to see if he found a solution.

Do you get the spinning ring? If you do then it's somebody else. If you have a black screen then your disc is messed up cleaning it might help.

If you're sure that it's the map that has the issue (not the host just singing out) then you **bleep** sure it's a game error, because you said it doesn't work in custom either. But go to your saved data utility and delete the patch. Then boot up Uncharted 3 and redownload it. Your patch might be corrupted. Is this a very recent problem? It might just be a live update. If its still broken tomorrow, then just delete the patch.
