Btw, what do you think about the "tradeable treasures" feature?
It seems like they were planning to implement a Golden Abyss-esque treasure system, but they scrapped it.
Not sure. If they were planning on implementing such a system. I would assume if they did they didn't have enough time to implement it fully but enough to implement the treasure system we have now. If they were to include it in UC4 I hope they try again with this system. It's a good concept but needs work/planning.
That was an interesting read. I must say that this comes are virtually NO SURPRISE to me. Once the Subway Beta hit I knew we were in deep, deep doo-doo before retail release. This only confirms what I, and many others, suspected over 1 year ago.
I expect that NDI has learned some stuff with UC3's MP. Then again, that's what we said about UC2.
Expectations for TLOU will be high. Let's hope they don't release another game with the inferior quality of UC3.
Hopefully the alarm bells were screaming during the production of UC3 and at retail release. Let's hope NDI does not want to experience that again with TLOU. Time will tell. I am VERY interested in TLOU and how it functions compared to UC3. I'm also very interested in the return of Druckman and Straley, who are the last bastions of hope for UC/NDI fans.
All of this just reinforces that working with a deadline is what did the most damage to this game. If they instead would have delayed it and continued working on it for even a month longer we probably all would have benefited. The game may have been "finished" on time, but the level of polish that should have been done was cut short.
I wonder how the story would have been different with Cutter all the way through though?
