Re: Play on...

Nov 17, 2012

I'm not leaving, I'm playing less.

I know deep down that the two Uncharted titles are the best multiplayer titles available on the PS3. But.. I also know that with the required changes they could be so much better.

Just because you got something right as a developer, which ND have done, doesn't mean your game is by any means perfect. The lag is borderline unplayable at times, when the game does work though it's a joy.

ND as a company make me really angry because they don't strive to better the game they created, instead they look for ways to make a quick buck.

Don't think they quite understand business. Create a great product, improve it, more people will come, then you sell stuff, not.. Leave the game in a broken state, let people get frustrated, try to milk the remaining players.

That makes absolutely no sense at all from a business standpoint.

As a business person I don't understand ND's business logic at all. If I'm selling you a car, I'm not going to lie, I'm going to fix the thing up and tell it how it is. Most importantly is to make sure the product you are selling actually works properly. I mean applying this logic to Uncharted 3.

If Uncharted 3 was a car, most of us would be dead with the amount of brake failures.

This last week I've been so busy, and it's such a bad time because I'm trying to practice for the B2K tournament Smiley Sad

I should have more time this week, and I am lucky enough to have Friday off Smiley Happy

I've seen a hand full of posts these past few weeks concerning people's diminishing interest in this multiplayer and the few others that speak up and agree. I feel it's unfortunate that people are leaving this game. I'm going to do the opposite. I'm going to continue playing. Yes, the game has a multitude of problems. Do I enjoy lock on blindfire, lack of seperate hitboxes, COD style loadouts, and crippling lag? Not really, but quite frankly, Uncharted multiplayer is truly one of a kind, and when the game works as it should, the fun to be had is sublime. You just can't find that climby, shooty, Nathan Drake-y style anywhere else. Since ND killed Uncharted 2's multiplayer offerings by introducing lowered health (something I've had to accept as true), Uncharted 3 will continue to have a place in my gaming rotation for the forseeable future. With the continuation of labs, tournament rewards, and other content/events (hopefully), I can't see that being too difficult.

Furthermore, for all the problems that the game has, at least ND has made some attempt to fix them (even if it doesn't always work out ideally). A few players have grown a sense of entitlement a bit too large, becoming angry at ND when their requests are not met, or better yet, not met with gusto. Remember the days when developers did nothing that fans wanted and made their own game?

I will continue playing. For that next cross map headshot on Fort. For that next shotgun surprise on Museum. For that next train mishap in London. For the next turret slaughter on Chauteu. For Sully's next wise crack. For Roman's next flurry of the word "bloody". For the next army of Drake or Flynn clones to gun down. For unique, Uncharted fun!

Also, i've spent too much money to just toss the game aside now...

ThanksSmiley Very Happy

The game is addictingly fun, well was, back at launch. But as fun as it is, it's a huge fat error in terms of multiplayer. So many problems consist in this game, and if you were to review it on the level it is now, it wouldn't be regarded as a competitive level type game, like UC2 kinda was.(SA did ruin it, but still.)

The game is still awesome to play , but let's be real here, this game is a broken mess.
