thats because uncharted , gt5 and infamous 2 use real dynamic cascade lighting instead of the cascade technique used before * it looks more realistic over all but the ps3 strugles with shaders using this techinque..*

I don't remember anything like that in Infamous 2...

Fog uses a technique called "alpha blending" and that's very taxing for ancient GPUs like the RSX (GeForce 7800).

put a flare in ugc and stand in front of it and yes they do use alpha blending , altho earlier games with simpler lighting did not have this issue.
