Co-Op Arena/Hunter Treasure Rarity Guide

Background

  • Surprisingly I still people make threads asking which Treasures are Rare in Co-Op Arena vs Co-Op Hunter
  • I've played over 1000 Co-Op Arena games to completion and I have all the Co-Op Treasures
  • Here is a quick guide to end all the speculation

Facts

  • Playing on different difficulties does not change the drop rates or the treasures that are dropped
  • Playing Co-Op Shade Survival does not change the drop rates or the treasures that are dropped
  • ND has stated that all Co-Op Arena/Hunter treasures have an equal chance of dropping, they insist it's completely random. This is not true
  • Each treasure has a weight that determines it's rarity. This is why you always seem to get the same treasures and never get the one you're missing
  • You can acquire all treasures in Co-Op Arena but it is extremely tedious. I.e. I've collected all the Co-Op Treasures in Arena except for the Chenrezig Buddha (Gold) (Elena's Cat Ears). Whereas I've gotten that treasure multiple times in Hunter. Update: I finally got this treasure over the weekend in Arena after completing 700 (Seven Hundred) Crushings.

Guide

  • Typically the last treasure in each set is Rare and you'll only find it by playing Co-Op Hunter Arena. However, please refer to the guide below for the specifics for each treasure set
  • Anything marked as Arena means you'll be able to find the treasure in Arena. Most treasures marked as Arena can also be found in Hunter but are easier to acquire in Arena
  • Anything marked as Hunter means you'll be able to find the treasure in Hunter relatively easily. You will almost never find it in Arena

why would ND say that every treasure has an equal chance of dropping if they have held RARE treasure drop weekends? that just doesn't make sense ... any evidence that they've actually said this (that can't be misunderstood)?

They've said this, but they were referring to Arena treasures only. Adventure and all Comp modes have rare treasures. Arena/Hunter/Shade are not supposed to have any type of increased rarity from one treasure to another.

To the OP, I appreciate the effort, but that kills my eyes. Especially the yellow, hurts to even attempt to read it lol.

canadian94eh - Definitely not misunderstood, as nationm04 pointed out only certain Competitive treasures are rare. I wouldn't really say the Adventure treasures are rare. More just the Hard/Crushing treasures are harder to get than the Easy/Normal Treasures. Some Adventure treasures used to be extremely rare due to glitches but now it's relatively easy to get all them through farming on hard.

I remember on the last Rare Drop weekend that they simply increased the drop rates in Co-Op Arena/Shades. This meant that we had a better chance to get the rare treasures I listed above since we had more chances. But like I've mentioned, that doesn't really help since it's extremely rare to find the Hunter treasures in Arena. Not impossible. But unlikely.

natinom04 - Wow I agree. Looked at this on my phone and it does kill my eyes. I've changed it to the default text color instead. Hope that helps.

I guess I’ll have to revisit Hunter Arena (it would not be too much of an exaggeration to say I loathe that mode) if I want a decent chance of getting my last treasure but…

I can’t recall once instance that I got a new treasure in Hunter (in fairness, I hardly play the mode at all).  On the other hand, two of my friends have gotten their last treasures in Coop Arena in recent months.  For those of you that subscribe to the theory that treasures drop on certain maps (I don’t):

  • Tzongkhapa Statue (Crystal) dropped in Plaza - we were probably playing on Hard but I can’t remember for sure.
  • Strange Relic (Ivory) dropped in Sanctuary and we were definitely playing on Crushing for that one.

I'm one of those people who've actually grinded Co-op Arena trying to find the Chenrezig Golden Buddha for Elena's Cat Ears. I'll have to give Hunter a go when my 2 Hunter friends get off Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and GTA V...

Bang Bang!

Two of Drake's cap treasures are in Arena? Man, I hate this. I played Arena a lot before and all I got was a bunch of hats for people I don't even use.

it's not an official list, it's just what mode he believes will get you the treasure faster / sooner (or what mode he believes will drop the said treasure within less time or more frequently) ... i don't think this should be seen as a guide for any person trying to get treasures, it's just a strategy that might work for people if they're patient enough.

Man, I'll just keep playing Arena then. I mean, it definitely isn't like Adv, but as long as I don't have to kill another player as an objective, it's all good.
