The best thing you can do is to enable UPnP (if you haven't done so). Use a browser (Firefox, Chrome etc.) and type the address http://192.168.1.1 (or whatever IP your router has).

How to enable UPnP:

ps: What NAT Type and UPnP do you have in your PS3?

The NAT Type is 2.  As to the UPnP...not sure...it only show it as "available" within the PSN XMB (when looking @ the internet connection info).

Thanks for taking the time.  My computer illiteracy needs work!  LOL!

My assumption is that Port Forwarding or Triggering somehow prioritizes the wireless connections to the router...somehow making the PS first and prioirty connection. Is that somewhat correct?   Unraveling all this is driving me nuts!

No, prioritization works through QoS (check Page 38 on the router's manual).

Port forwarding opens the required ports for flawless communication with the other players (voice chat - green bars).

UPnP forwards ports automatically, so it is highly recommended.
