UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves - Technical Issues

I have just got UC2 and from the beginning I have experienced bugs/glitches which have made it unplayable.

First of all, in chapter 1 it kept freezing on the last cut scene it kept freezing, so I did some searching and it seems that it could have been down to patch 1.09. So I removed all the patches and tried to play without, and things were ok for awhile...until i got to chapter 5 that is.

As I was playing chapter 5 the graphics textures started to randomly mess up and go all yellow; I have somehow managed to get the end of this chapter by restarting my PS3 multiple times (which sometimes makes it work again) but the start of chapter 6 is the same.

Are there any known solutions to these problems?  I really enjoyed UC1 and UC3 (yes I'm playing them in an odd order...), and UC2 from what I've managed to play seems great as well. I have tried re-patching 5 times now and its not helped I have an old fat 80gb ps3 if that makes any difference.

I dont have uncharted but the disc could be dirty. I had a game once that was very buggy but when i cleaned it, it worked.

Check the disc and reboot your system.  I have not experienced any singleplayer issues.  Also try contacting Sony Customer Support and see if there's anything they can do.

I have exactly the same problem in single player mode.

The game is patched to the latest version and I am on a PS3 slim 120GB, with FW 4.31

I tried to delete all the saves and profile files, then I started a new game (even with a different difficulty, jus to change something), but I still found the same problem on chapter 5, so I can't progress in the game at all.
