A techy question here for those who might have such knowledge:
Firstly I noticed that the server side tweaks are active in single player Challenge and multi player split screen modes.
I haven't been able to confirm if there active in campaign mode yet so if anyone can answer that I'd be grateful
My main question is if the game is ever taken offline (say 3-5 years from now) will those server side tweaks go with it?
I understand that a full patch sits on your HD and should stay active as long as you don't delete it but if the number tweaks Jaffe talks about are actually ran through the servers and not actually downloaded to your HD if the online goes will the game just revert back to whichever settings (for vehicles/weapons etc) it had before the tweak was implemented?
So nerfed Talon/SB would revert back to OP.
RK would lose his buffs etc...
If anyone has any info about how this works please post.
Got this answered by a poster over on GFaqs:
I checked it out.
If you have the game on and connected then turning the router off won't change things.
I assume that the tweaks are loaded in when you sign in.
BUT if you boot up TM and the router is aready off then the game just defaults to the standard balance settings (untweaked Crimson/Kami/RK etc).
I'd think this would be the same with the Talon/SB mega guns as well?
So my belief is that if the servers ever die then you will LOSE any tweaks not done with a patch...
