Hi all, i just was wondering if there were anymore plans to add patches and tweaks to the game. Seeing as how the message board for online hasnt updated at all, and my ps3 still freezes completely during gameplay at times i was just curious if any of you have heard this or that? Thanks.

EPS's contract is ending shortly, and most are expecting the next patch to *potentially* be the last. That being said, I was under the impression that the patch was supposed to drop this past week, but there's very little communication from the developers, per usual.
I'm hoping that no news simply means they're still tweaking it to make sure it works. With such a variety of issues (server connection errors, overheating, freezing) I imagine it's a situation of fixing an issue only to have it make another one. It seems like lots of different people have 1 main issue, in addition to the others popping up sporadically. For me it's connecting to a game room.
Sorry I don't have any more detail, but we're all basically in the dark on this. Try to ignore the people posting saying that things will never get fixed, be patient, and keep your fingers crossed.

David Jaffe posted this on twitter on June 2 2012. It's new info about the incoming tweaks/patches.

@SantiRivera1 A pretty beefy patch is coming for TM in the next 2-3 weeks. Stability and game improvements (will see if Sony is cool with me posting the list of changes. Also, will be tuning game with Sony week after E3. Ideally that will be the last tune session but there may be one more after. I have zero news of TM going GREATST HITS or going to PSN but I have to assume this is in the cards ad we want to make sure the game is as great as it can be when- hopefully-a new flux of TM players join the fold

How about we not completely screw over a couple hundred more people? If you'd finished the game properly in the first place there wouldn't be any desperate need for patches, nor would the game's survival depend on it hitting PSN (probably at a discount) and hooking the ignorant.
Oh wait—I have a better idea! Let's utterly destroy one of the most beloved franchises in Sony's entire back catalog, charge $60 a pop for alpha-quality code, and then cut support as soon as is humanly possible? I mean, working half as hard for just as much money has got to make you at least twice as smart as other devs, right?

I understand you are mad about the problems in the game because i get mad about them sometimes. People that may potentially buy the game later has plenty to go on in the ratings and forums if they chose to buy or not. Even if the next patch does not fix every problem in the game i will not stop playing as will a lot of others not stop because we are hard core Twisted Metal fans. If it burns my PS3 up i would go buy another one and still play. You have to take the fun with the bad sometimes and i love playing some NUKE.

Hey guys just checking on my post...Does anyone know if a date has been given yet for the new patch, or are they still working things over and beaten in the kitchen?

You think this game only sold a couple of hundred copies? Hahaha!!
YOU obviously don't understand the development process. TM already had one major delay of around 6 months, and Sony will have insisted the developers release the game at a certain date (remember, Sony OWNS the rights to TM).
Eat Sleep play and David Jaffe are doing all they can (even NOW when they are NOT getting paid by Sony!!) to fix the game's flaws that they did not find when creating the game!
Things like trophy glitches, for example, passed Sony's QA testing 100% fine, but we all know they are screwed to hell. So you should blame Sony, not just the developers!

I never said that the game only sold a couple hundred copies. But it doesn't matter how many it sold when in under one year it—and almost certainly the entire TM franchise— will have been dead, buried, and eternally maligned. This should be particularly troubling, given that fans of the series have literally been begging for a proper TM sequel since before the launch of the PS3. One of the platform's most beloved titles has gone out not with a bang, but with the sad little whimper of a curb-stomped puppy.
I don't care whether you blame Sony, ESP, Dave Jaffe personally, or even me. The fact is, the game is a colossal, Lair-grade failure. You can pick any iconic series you want: Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Halo, Gran Turismo; if any of them released a single title this broken, buggy, and virtually unplayable, it would kill the whole series. It can't be forgiven, and it shouldn't be commercially rewarded.
And Biglsufan77, anyone willing to buy a brand-new console to play this catastrophe, knowing it had fried their last PS3, doesn't deserve to own anything more technologically advanced than toilet paper.

Personally I would buy a 2nd PS3 if Twisted burnt my PS3 out too, I've gone through a PS3 before due to YLOD but with TM I know that it would be due to pushing the PS3 past the point of breaking. TM already causes my PS3 to slow down while it's booting and while trying to send a message etc. so if the PS3 burnt out I'd be okay with it knowing the Sony made the PS3 too weak.
Personally I blame Sony for the trophies and the servers, Jaffe worked on the design and other details of the game, his team ESP did a great job with this game, the graphics look great, the story with what time they had was fun and the online was good but I do believe they may have messed some things up or could have done more but I put the majority of the blame on Sony.
I am a die hard fan of the series so when you say the game went with a whimper I am sad because they did make it a bang, it hit problems constantly but if you look at the game itself and the base of it then you can see it's a good game. When you list all these games that are iconic series saying that if they released a crappy or buggy game that it would kill the series I just want to bring up that Nintendo has burnt out the Mario series but they keep bringing it back with a new twist, for Halo look at halo wars, no matter who I talk to they say the halo wars game sucked but Microsoft came out with more halo games. There's many more examples but why go on, just because they make have hiccups doesn't mean the series is killed or that it cant redeem itself.
