If you read the article about members of Robomodo being laid off, you'll read this quote, "The layoffs are reported to be in response to the news that Robomodo will be taken off the Tony Hawk franchise following the upcoming release of Shred."
If Robomodo will no longer be developing the series, does that mean that it's dead? Or will Neversoft or some other company take over the series? Do you think it could mean that they'll finally drop the ridiculous and annoying skating skateboard and make the gameplay with a controller again? What do you think?
Well, that's either a good sign or a bad sign. It maybe a good sign that Activision plans to leave the skateboard and go back to the old style of Tony Hawk games. I'd cheer that decision. Because I'm not to fond of Ride and IMO Shred just isn't worth getting. So, if Activision is deciding to go back to the old style of gameplay. This move is actually a good one. But if not, then laying of the TH development team at Robomondo is then a bad idea. Because if they don't make the Hawk games, who will? Neversoft won't. They left the franchise behind awhile ago.
So, either this is a sign that Activision is giving up on the Hawk franchise or it's a sign that they just want to change developers and make the Hawk games like they used to. Because IMO, that's the only way the series can sell again.
