Hey guys, what did you think of tonight's episode? Do you feel the judges' logic made sense this time? Did Big D deserve the Big Boot? Or should Star have been sent home?
Note: Doc buzzing in early with confidence (cutting off Meredith), only to realize he actually doesn't know what color the Triangle is on the DualShock 3 was the highlight for me. I was laughing so hard! ROFL.

Kinda bummed Big D got the boot. He seems like a good dude and that's very important in any work environment. Skill sets can always be learned. Any one of the contestants can train to be a good tester, but some are more likeable than others.
I thought episode five was pretty good. I think it was Big D's time to go. He was just way to slow answering some of those questions. He claimed that they were easy, which they were, yet he couldn't answer them right at the moment he needed to most. Like the judges said, if he can't answer "easy" questions "right away", then how could he spot potential bugs while testing games "right away". I think his time was up, he was on the losing team three times, and had poor-average performances.
I think Star is really close to going next, she really has to step it up in the paintball challenge. She didn't even know when the PlayStation 3 was released? That's not someone I'd hire. Overall, good episode. I challenged myself to when they asked the questions to them and see how many I could get right and if I could beat them to it. I did pretty good. I'd say I got about 80% of the questions right, all probably being faster than them. Some of the questions I was like, "Ugh...? Father of PlayStation?".
Yeah, you're right. I guess Big D had to go because he really messed up with the questions. I agree with Snooterz that Big D was an admirable individual and sadly it takes a lot more than personality to be a tester.
It just really pisses me off Star didn't go already. The judges even gave her second chance during elimination and she couldn't get Brent Gocke's title right (which has been repeated during every episode)! C'mon! Unbelievable!
Star couldnt answer any playstation questions. Really they asked her a Guitar hero question, then used the logic that she really knew taylored questions for her. To keep her in the game. I am suprised they didnt ask any Street fighter questions either.
Where was Big D's questions? Just because they put her in a catagory that she thought she might have a chance. I think they both needed to go home, really. I Think that Star shouldnt have been on the show in the first place, much less make it this far, Much less been kept over Luge much less be kept over big D and when she does alright next week and they send someone else home. Ill break into a RAGE of more hate for this show that has nothing to do with Gaming.
Sorry i just really hate on Ciji since she was on WCG the Ultimate Gamer and cried like a baby over that dude who she made out with. I cant stand people like that. Much less she is a Xbox fan girl.
ok, now the panels judgement no longer makes since to me, why they continue to keep StarVon the show makes no since to me. i think its because shes some great guitar hero and street fighter world champ, that its good for the show to have world renowed people. thats the only reason shes still here. Star is the worst one there & the judges keep giving her more chances. It's gotta be a conspiracy. Or, what if all game testers are picked on these judges' screwed up requirements? That explains the bugs in SOCOM Confrontation & others I've played I guess. Big D didn't help himself with his explanation but at least he knew more answers. This challenge, like the rest, have nothing to do with testing games so who cares if he breaks under the pressure of being on a gameshow with you potential future boss watching? The judges said Star had no chance against Naucious but she couldn't even answer any questions un-related to Guitar Hero when she had the floor all to herself.
I liked the episode for a lot of reasons. Nauseous did great. Amped showed sacrifice with her willingness to take the fall for the team. Cyress saved the day. Doc made an a** of himself. For the first time, I thought star showed some character. I was rooting for her at the end even though Big D is a great person.
The judges' logic made sense in terms of how the challenge was set up. Someone had to be eliminated and unfortunately it couldn't be Doc. I would have enjoyed the episode more if Cyress, Doc, and Amped were the team up for elimination, because I dislike their alliance idea.
The Judges IMO made the right choice because not only did Big D fail to perform, but he did not perform well under pressure and from viewing all 5 episodes, its apparently a lingering trait that would not be welcomed in the work environment because testing is usually done in a high pressure situation with tight deadlines. So for once, the explanations of the judges was perfect and yes even tho STAR performed poorly she does have the skill available to test games and find a ton of bugs in a project.
Though STAR has her Pro gaming skills i still feel she will not end up winning this contest because even tho she can learn what she needs to for the job, she is very limited in her game selections which narrows her skills. As a pro gamer you usually focus all your enegry into 1 game/genre and that limitation will hurt her adaptablitity to perform well on games that are against her interests.
The only contestants that i see who have displayed their knowledge of multiple titles and genres are Nauscious and Cyrus. I feel AMPED will fail due to her lack of experiene with games, Doc will fail because he acts before thinking and is very quick to pass the blame onto others and not take credit for his own mistakes. And probably overall Cyrus will fail because he is a follower in Doc's belief of passing the blame which will work against him at some point.
