I'm thinking of buying that Sony Wireless headset calcunnon posted the link to. Anyone here whose got those- are they worth the money?
How much will you paying for them? I got them (http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Stereo-Headset-Playstation-3/dp/B0053OLY9O) for $60 the day it came out and at that price it was worth it. If its below $90 its a great buy. But I will try to compare it to others if its more than $100. Surround works well but only if its connected to the PS3, Stereo mode only on pc's. Battery last for around 5 hours. Wireless range is great. Doesnt work for xbox.
They have a new one (http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wireless-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG). I cannot comment on this one as I don't own it though seems better in everyway that the first edition. Can be used in a wired connection (1st edition is wireless only) But at $130 try to compare it to other products first.
http://www.amazon.com/TRITTON-Kunai-Stereo-Headset-PlayStation-3/dp/B0091NAG2E = This one is $60, not wireless but ti seems decent. Reviews seem pretty good too. Comes in 3 colors.
As you can see by the reviews there pretty good
^Thanks for the help. I'm not much of an audiophile, so I'm not sure what's best. The Sony one's are £60 ($90) in the UK. Are they worth it at that price?
To me it is. Great sound and not having to worry about getting tangled with wires is a huge comfort. Though I wish the battery life was longer.
I bought the Pulse headset for The Last Of Us. It's great, I love it. It comes with a regular headphone cable, so you can use it on anything (without wasting battery life), but you have to turn it on and use it wirelessly when using it with a PS3. I use it for everything...
The virtual surround sound feature (which you have to turn on, something I didn't know about for 2 months ) doesn't really sound better. It sounds worse, and I hadn't noticed much 'surround' sound from it. Stereo works just fine, though. If you set the game to "Stereo headphones" mode in the audio settings, you'll get the best sound with them, or any headphones.
Anyways, if you don't want to spend $150 (or whatever it costs now), you can get RCA to headphone jack cables cheap. It allows you to use any headphones with your PS3.
< It looks like this
If your TV lets you output audio with the red and white things, use the ones above, but if it doesn't, get these:
And connect them directly to your PS3. (If you use HDMI, connect the HDMI cable to your TV, AND the component/composite cable to these things. Then, in the display settings, set video out to HDMI, and audio out to the red/white.)
You can probably find them at amazon or any electronics store.
I just bought those ( turtle beach p11) and the sound is really good but I read alot of reviews and most of them said that after a couple of months they break so ill be carefull with them.
