Well just like mostly everybody else has said. Using the F word expresses your emotion's a lot more clearly then any other word in the English langue mainly because it is shunned upon. It's the end of the world. Just maybe 100 people live. So I believe that the use of the F word is required.
But oldman have you ever seen the movie Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta? Since your 50 I'm going to say you have and that movie had EXCESSIVE f bombs but I don't recall anybody complaining about it, or saying their not going to watch it for the reason.
ND wants to make a mature game and get appeal to a wider crowd of fans. So they make a lot more mature and graphic game.
Other example. When Heavy Rain was about to be released. Everybody said that the game had excessive nudity, plus a "rape" scene. A lot of people said they wasn't going to ever buy it from just the hearsay. Which the game turned out to be one of the BEST put together games that was aimed at a very mature crowd and one of the best storyline's I have ever played in a game.
So if you want to be one of these people and live in the closest and want to deprive yourself of possible one of the best video games every. Go for it. But don't try and get other people to jump the fence with you and make them lose out on it.
