I totally love the art direction that Last of Us have so I needed to start making similar stuff. Instead of doing something in Photoshop I did all the content in 3d so I´m able to rotate everything the way I want. I have used about a month on this so far but it´s not ready yet, not by far
My goal is to make a small portion of a city that has similar props and assets like in the game but with very detail textures and models because now the PS3 hardware isn´t an issue. I´m still going to keep the triscount in reasonable numbers like in the pc games now days.
I´m also thinking of doing some characters there but that is beyond my skills right now so if there are someone that are good at that then we could make some teamwork here!
I like to hear a fellow fans what are you thinking of the progress so far and what else could be added there. This is a tribute to the great game and a study of making post-apocalyptic 3d art and remember that this is still a work in progress stage so the final quality will be better.
If someone at Naughty Dog team finds this then it would be so awesome to hear what they think of this and maybe share some workflow tips and tricks
I try to update this thread with some new screens and assets when I got something done.
If someone are interested to know some technical information then here it is:

Thanks! I like that concept art too and it´s well made. Really inspiring stuff. The whole post-apocalyptic theme is something that I like a lot. When doing models and graphics you really have to think what them looks like when something was brand new and what them looks like now 20 years later or so. Much harder than doing just a simple new carpaint
Thanks all! It´s always nice to hear positive feedback.
Here is a little update. Now there is some sort of clicker or spore thing. I also tweeked lighting a bit. Next step is to start making more green stuff in there.
