Turning up mic volume via ps3 settings?

So with my mic off, and trying to hear my friends talk, can I turn their mic volume up some how? Thanks

As Advocate023 stated, use your headset volume control.

If you've turned your headset volume all the way up and still hearing your friend too low.  Ask your friend to turn her Mic volume up Settings/Accessory Settings/Audio Device Settings Volume 3 should be more than enough.

Moreover, each video game has their own Audio Settings in which you can adjust the in-game background music, sound XF and voice chat. Play around with your video game sound settings help you accentuate online chat.

What I was really looking for was a seperate sound option that allows you to turn up your friends mic volumes. Such as you can turn up and down music levels, etc...this way if my mic isn't on, I still want to clearly hear my friends over the games music.

You have no control at all over your friend's mic volumes.  You can only control your mic volume.  You can only control the chat volume using your headset's volume control.  The PS3 outputs unamplified audio for both game and chat.  As a result, there are no volume controls on the console itself.  You have control the volume on your audio device's amplifier.

Re: Turning up mic volume via ps3 settings?

Like gkpama00 said, you cannot control your friends mic. What you have control over is the audio output. This is why I told you to lower the game XF/music volume down and turn up the voice chat volume. Perhaps your friends needs a better mic.

There are gaming headsets that amplify and offer volume control for game & voice chat. Perhaps it's time for you and/or your friend to upgrade to a more feature pack headset.

The Official SONY headsets do offer Chat/Game volume control.

I own a Turtle Beach Ear Force PX21 which features independent volume control for game & voice chat audio.

Another headset that offers the same independent game & voice chat volume control is the turtle beach P11. It is the one with the lowest price tag.

Walmart has the P11 for even lower
