"The connection with Sony Entertainment Network timed out."  when I try to log in with my Ps3 why does that happen?

I have been trying to connect my playstation 3 systen to the playstation network, and just before it connects, the connection times out, I also have a psp

and I can connect using it, but I cannot connect (log in) using my ps3, I have been trying to do so for months. My ps3 does connect to the internet fine, its just that it

cannot connect to the PSN or play online games. Please help me.

What results do you get when you perform an internet connection test?

Mine is doing the same thing! I reset my password and have no problem logging in on my computer but can't log in on my ps3.

Internet connection test shows;

Obtain ip address: Succeeded

Internet Connection: Succeeded

Playstation Network: Failed

Are you two still having problems today? A lot of people had issues today with PSN.

My connection to psn is timed out also, tried restarting ps3 and connected but disconnect after 2 mins. of playing S&D (mw3) i am on the east coast. What's going on with the psn guys?

Was logged in fine here, then an error occured and I haven't been able to get into it since. Only about an hour so far.

Well it seems a lot of people are getting sent back to XMB because of whatever reason.

I have a feeling Sony on it because this issue has been getting worse over time. I wouldn't sweat it. If your connection seems to be an issue then unplug your modem for a few minutes and allow for a reset.
