PS Vita Buttons not working unless in Safe Mode menu?

I've tried a buncha things, formatting included. The buttons don't work whilst in a game or Welcome Park. BUT, they work while in the Safe Mode menu - i'm rebuilding the database among other things just to see if the problem is fixed, seeing as how it's not a hardware issue, but rather a software issu

Updates possibly coming, see what happens. Anybody else who has had this issue?

Which game? The Vita buttons and thumb-sticks aren't supposed to work in the Welcome Park. The physical controls on the Vita are only used in games that are specifically programmed to use them. Most of the Vita's built-in apps don't use any of the buttons, or the thumb-sticks. The Vita is basically a touch-screen device until you start a traditional video game. The exception is safe mode, where the physical controls are used because there might be a problem with the touch screen.

The buttons don't do what that should? Or do you think they do when they don't?

The home screen is touch only as is Welcome Park to my knowledge.

Any game. The buttons just aren't regisistering, that goes for the START and SELECT as well as the L and R triggers - and yes, even the D Pad... in Safe Mode they work, but other than that I get a good Nope.

And derp, I know the buttons aren't used for everything im not stupid. I've had a PSP and the Vita since they came out. Really? You'd think I'd have tried everything when I said i've rebuilt the database and such.
