I got a fat ps3 here 80gb bought 2009. And when i play fifa 11 it always hangs. But before the game doesnt hang. I went to the shop here in the Philippines and they said

its because new ps3 game releases wont work on the ps3 fat. So im wondering is this a myth or a fact? Pls Reply

Let me guess, that shop is called Datablitz?

New games work fine on the old systems, yours probably is overheating.

Yeah Datablitz only place for orig games. But it also happened to my friends fat ps3 and his was bought a year after mine.

So its false cos right now im playing fifa it just hung the game but i can still move around the xmb

I have launch sysetms, as do most of my relatives and many of my friends.

Newer games play just fine on our systems, as do older games.  No problems at all.

It's 100% false that an older system cannot play newer games.

If anything at all is wrong with your system, it could be a failing bluray drive.

Or the hard drive is going flacky.

To the OP, try taking your system into safe mode and select options 3 (restore file system) and 4 (rebuild database).
