This was the first place I went to, because I have had success in the past on this board. I cannot connect my PS3
(wireless) to the internet. Something happened last night, I think it might be related to my girlfriend hooking up her ipod touch wirelessy to our internet for the first time. As later on when I turned on my PS3 it would not connect to the internet. I input all of the information same as usual but it was unable to find an IP address when I tried to connect, I have 100% connection reading and all of that stuff, but when I test the connection it always has the obtaining IP address as failed... HELP!
Thanks for you quick response. I input all of the information you provided me with, but to still no avail. Yet now I am at least obtaining the IP address but 'internet connection' comes up as failed. I am just curious if it is a router issues or a PS3 issues. I get 'DNS error (80710102).
what set up did you have before?
You can try unplugging and replugging your router.
You can try resetting your router.
Sometime there is a conflict between modems and routers having DHCP enabled try disabling it on your router if nothing changes change this setting back to normal.
Access your settings on your router and check if you have UPnP. If so try to connect on your PS3 with it on, if it fails try with it disabled.
You can try to set up your PS3 in a DMZ zone, Static IP is required for this to work. Sometimes DMZ just plainly doesn't work I suggest you then try Port fowarding (this guide will help you
