Unofficial Feature Request for Future Updates Thread

THIS THREAD IS NOT OFFICALLY MAINTAINED BY THE STARHAWK TEAM!

So, we have all played Starhawk for a while now. We know what we like and like not so much. And I have a feeling some want to see something changed. Since the game is early in its life, I decided to create a thread that lists features and other items in Starhawk that needs to be changed or added or perhaps removed.

This thread is just a list of ideas for improving the quality of game.

I will update this thread frequently to maintain a consistent list with other posters.

Here is a good start, these are listed in no particular order:

  1. Fix Audio Bug
    1. Audio cutting out is an issue that is very important. Gun shots non-existant, other sound effects are gone, etc. etc.
  2. Add CTF Flag Sound Effects
    1. Remember the sound notifications in Warhawk when a flag is captured or stolen? Why aren't these present in Starhawk?
  3. Display an Enemy's health when Engaging
    1. When I am in the process of shooting an enemy, I want to see how much health they have. Hit markers are just not enough.
  4. Display a Vehicle Health Bar
    1. I have no idea how much health is left on my tank or hawk! Where is the health bar?!
  5. Display a Soldier Health Bar
    1. Not as crucial as the vehicle health bar due to the fact that your HUD will change color based on the damage you take, but it would be a nice addition.
  6. Skills System Overhaul
    1. There are so many skills, yet we can only have one. I want to be able to have multiple skills. I'd like to be able to select three skills. However, this may just be my opinion since I am a hardcore Call of Duty fan.
  7. Manage Server while In-Game
    1. I created a server. While I am in-game, I would like to modify some of the server options like map rotation and game mode. However, I must quit my game and re-create a new server.
  8. Save Server Set
    1. It'd be cool if I could create a New Game by just selecting one of my saved server settings. I don't have to select the same maps, mode, and loadouts each time I want to create a New Game.
  9. Loadout Customization
    1. It's be cool to customize the loadout in your New Game screen.
  10. Custom Blitz Map
    1. Blitz makes it so B&B items are already spawned on the map when the game starts. It'd be cool to create a custom Blitz layout, save said layout, and incorporate to New Games.
  11. Custom Rift Amount/Recharge Amount
    1. It'd be sick if you could change this setting in a new game. The ability for everyone to start with full rift and for it to recharge quicker or slower would be interesting.
  12. Downloadable version of Starhawk
    1. Kinda random, but I think it would be a great way to increase sales. Warhawk launched on PSN for $39.99 or you could buy a disc for $59.99. Starhawk could do something similar by offering the multiplayer-only experience for $39.99 on PSN.
  13. Outpost Overhaul
    1. Outposts have too low of health. I don't like spawning at the home base 95% of the time. There needs to be a drastic overhaul in the Outpost system. The maps in Starhawk are unbelievably LARGE and spawning at home base is just too far from the action (especially for CTF games). Warhawk utilized the bases system where teams would essentially capture mini-bases across the map, and could spawn at these closer bases. I want that!
  14. Archipelago
    1. Archipelago was the best CTF maps in Warhawk. The action was focused on a skinny set of islands. I would like to see future DLC featuring this high-octane type of setting.

Thanks and see you on the battlefield. And also, thank you Lightbox for creating a great game. I played over 100+ hours on Warhawk and I have loved Starhawk just as much.

I honestly like the feel of no health bar, it is old and a bit trite. The buildings make some sense because they have large hp, but even then it is almost like they are adding a few too many hints to players. Also I hate the skills...I would be happy if they were gone...honestly skills you have to unlock is onesided as they get. It also makes all points earned using them like cheating. I love RPGs and I loved Borderlands...but I never felt like any of the player versus matches counted for anything.

Archipelago
 

  1. Archipelago was the best CTF maps in Warhawk. The action was focused on a skinny set of islands. I would like to see future DLC featuring this high-octane type of setting.

I have to say this is the worst map because it was the most BRed map of all times. One side only could get out one way. This is the map I will drive tanks and jets to the otherside adn leave them there for the toehr team in BRs because it is beyound unfair once you have the other bases. It always ends with mined spawn points, five tanks, constant TOWs and clusters, and the binoc spamming by the one really lame player that camps back at the other base trying to get easy kills with it.

The skills system is a nice addition. It gives me some tangible challenges that I need to get to keep me going. I understand your views (as myself am a huge Borderlands fan too), but getting rid of the skills altogether seems like you are taking a sizable chunk away from the game.

Archipelago was fun because you would either dominate, or not. If you were being dominated by the opposition, it was always fun to hunker in the main base and just wreck as many enemies coming up that bridge.

Archipelago CTF was the fastest paced map in the game. I feel like Starhawk needs a very small map tailored to fast paced gameplay comparable to Archipelago.

Again, just my two cents. I feel like there are plenty of large, balanced maps in Starhawk.

notifications if any enemy w/o stealthy enters your base, i mean come on it is your base if there is a drop ship above the base i think it should be able to see/locate them.

vehicles should be able to flip over w/o kicking you out from them, i dont know if anyone else wants this,but i did it in the warhawk demo and i laughed ny head off when the other team saw me rolling in my jeep
