You invest money and take the risk of losing it all. So the money the rich invest into capital gains is money they already earned and therefore that money was taxed when it was earned at the income tax level and then invested into businesses and such and if a profit is made it is taxed again at the capital gains rate. So essentially you are incorrect they do not pay less then the minimum wage worker in part because the money was taxed twice. Once when they made the money and then again if the investment makes a profit. so in turn if they pay 15% on their income and then 15% on capital gains that is a 30% tax over time. This also doesn't include state taxes local taxes or sales taxes.
very concise and to the point. Good explanation.

@samo Also man 2 other facts for you you say wars don't lead to economic prosperity that is incorrect ww2 is what brought america out of the great depression not fdr policies you can check the history if you want but thats a known fact. also most people who make minimum wage and are of low income pay no taxes. When you file your income taxes in april every year. the poor always get more back then they paid in. I know this first hand. Last year my wife and i grossed almost 40k for the year. we payed in together about 4k we got back almost 7k why do i get more money back then i payed in. that is redistribution in the form of tax exemptions. that also means someone else paid taxes to the feds in turn so they could give it to others.

Don't like the spin on this one. The cost of living and what is considered to be "poverty" is set way too low. Just my own personal opinion. Do you have children? As for wwII and FDR policies.... WWII is the easier one to point to and say yuhhp this brought us out of depression into prosperity, however I think FDR policies did GREAT things for this nation

i have 3 children sal my point was i have no problem getting back what i payed in which would have been 4k. But to give me 3k more then i payed in is redistribution.
