I just played the singleplayer demo and it blew me away. Now I want to get the game for multiplayer. Loving big infantry-vehicle battles anyway so I assume the mp is fun. I also played the Warhawk MP demo a few years ago and really enjoyed it. Not interest in Black Ops at the moment, although I will definitely buy it sooner or later.
Regarding Starhawk's multiplayer, I have a couple of simple questions:
- Most importantly, how's the player count doing?? Are there many players online or is everybody already playing BO2? Any problems to find full servers? I don't want to buy and devote myself to a new game just to realize the active player count is already dwindling. You know, when I'm getting a new multiplayer game, I want this game to have a future.
- Are the developers actively supporting the game with patches and hotfixes? Are they listening to the community?
- Are there any plans for addons in the future to keep the multiplayer experience fresh?
- Should I download the multiplayer-only part from psn or get the full package? How are trophies handled? Meaning, when I get the MP-only part, does the game install the singleplayer trophies nonetheless?
- Final question: Is the game any good? ![]()
Thanks in advance!

The developers have disbanded. Long story, multiple opinions, final answer remains: This community expects to see very little in the way of further dlc, patches, etc. Unfortunately.

See above answer.

See above answer

I am not a trophy hunter, so cannot give you an informed answer on this aspect.
- Final question: Is the game any good?
Depends on who you ask, but ultimately, the MP being any 'good' hinges strongly on who you play with, and when, most likely like any other MP game these days. I've had some awesome good times with this game when playing with friends and experienced players, and I've been frustrated to the point I never wanted to play again, ever, after playing with some random smooth bore idiots.
Thanks in advance!
Hope that helped.

something i've been paying attention to since bo2 released. it depends on the time of day, but it has been very consistant so it hasn't affected it.

the developers are no longer involved in this game. and they were very active in this community and took some of our ideas to heart and implemented them in the game.
- Are there any plans for addons in the future to keep the multiplayer experience fresh?
see above
- Should I download the multiplayer-only part from psn or get the full package?
depends on you...
How are trophies handled? Meaning, when I get the MP-only part, does the game install the singleplayer trophies nonetheless?
can't answer since i have the physical copy and all trophies
- Final question: Is the game any good?

Thanks in advance!

If you thought the SP was good you have not seen anything yet. The mulitplayer is much better then the single player and you have more options of vehicles and what-not.
The developers already made a few updates which added things like extra mechs with an EMP blast that many of us have been asking for for a long time. They also added more flexible options for what to include in the matches if you find some aspect you dont like. Like the controversal Over Poweredness of the games jets, if you want you can play only with jets, or never with them, or a good mix if that makes sense.
But now the game developers have been sent away and the game has been turned over to Sony Santa Monica, these guys are one of the best game developers around but their intentions for Starhawk have not been clearly stated as of yet.
Regardless the game as it stands today is one of the best mulitplayer experiences this generation.
If you buy the MP you can get the MP trophies, if you buy the SP you can get the SP trophies, if you buy them both you can get them both.
I personally love this game, but just ask yourself:
-Do you like large scale warfare with multiple vehicles and weapons?
-Do you like RTS games where you create bases and tactical locations?
-Do you like Third person shooters?
The best thing about Starhawk in my opinion is the ever changing tacics of the ground players. Everyday something new is learned and then people learn to adapt to that which causes something else to be created. Its a constant game of catch up and for me this keeps the game very fresh.
Also the people on these forums have been doing a lot to form a community, we have weekly community game nights(Last night was the latest, and it was one of the best I can remember), tournements, etc.
If you end up buying this game, I have started a clan with the intention of taking in new players most clans dont want so they can learn in a bit more friendly environment, as we all know how "Nice" people in online games tend to be to new players right? If you wanna join post in the "Are you New-ish to Starhawk" thread or PM me.
Cheers.
P.S. Starhawk rules.

if you do get it, there are some fun servers that you should look out for.
1. we have a community night server every wednesday (also some possible other days, sometimes passworded and sometimes not). you will get to know some of us forumites real well there and have plenty of fun
. (there may even be an occasional prize).
2. PLYMCO_PIGRIM's "PSforums". similar to community night but for anyone
3. Undead-MonkeyGuy's "**Ultimate Assult**" if you want to play some good assult.
4. Southern_DuDe_20's "TINY MAP MANIA". crazy small map server.
5. My "ZONES 20mins 5000pts blitz". some good zones action.
6. duhSplashEKS's "20mins Zones (Blitz)". another good zones server
