They do make a LOT of money but its only because people are willing to pay a lot to go to games and companies are willing to pay a lot to advertise when games are aired

its nothing like being at a live event and people(athletes/sponsors) know that. they get away with high ticket prices

Some people are crazy enough to buy 2 tickets in the Boston Bruins club section for next tuesday night's game just because they are on vacation    (yeah baby )

Re: NHL 2011-2012 Season

The 'Canes spoiled the Sabres home opener with a 4-3 victory.  I'm not surprised after watching the 'Canes defeat the Bruins a few nights ago as well.

The Sabres just didn't look sharp, failed on every power play opportunity, gave up a couple short-handed goals, and Ward looked good as he outplayed Miller in net.

Bring on the Penguins.

James Neal finally stepping it up.  I can't wait to see him out there with Sid.  I'm still concerned about Malkin and his knee soreness, though.  It's disappointing to know how completely dominant the Penguins could be if 100% healthy.

Re: NHL 2011-2012 Season

It wouldn't surprise me now that Tyler Kennedy has a concussion.  Good lord, can this team catch one break?  It sickens me knowing how much more dominant they would be if everyone was healthy, or even just half were healthy.

As a hockey fan I feel for the Penguins with their injuries and potential for being the top team. As a Canadian I just want to see homeboy Crosby preform and possibly chase those Gretzky records. As a Canucks fan I am happy to see where the Penguins are at as a team.

Every team after winning the cup has a bit of a hangover at the beginning of the next season.  Bears are no different, they just need to wake up from hibernation.
