NFL Season Thread

It doesn't feel right to not have some place to talk about football right now

  1. Jeremy Maclin ACL tear was definitely one of the worst possible things to happen to the offense. They're gonna try to replace him with Riley Cooper, which is gonna fail. Hopefully the 6'7 WR they signed can make the team and contribute something.
  2. From what I can gather, If Vick wins the starting QB job the Eagles will run Oregon's offense. If not, it's gonna be something close to New England
  3. I'm glad to see Mcnabb get his jersey retired
  4. Looks like the Eagles lost another player to a torn ACL/knee injury

I feel for you on the Maclin loss but as I Cowboys fan it will help us against you tremendously. Always hard to lose a Stud during camp/preseason

I also hope that Vick is NOT your QB. I think the Oregon offense would work very well in the NFL and would hate to see our spotty defense have to try and stop it two times a year.

McNabb was a great eagle. I can't count the number of times I screamed obscenities at him as he beat my boys again and again. I remember one play that was like 3rd and 25 he converted after scrambling around for a minute or so. One of my most hated players growing up.

I'm really rooting for Ifeanyi Momah. He went to school around here and I really thought he was gonna be a great player during his senior year. He had caught over 150 yards before tearing his ACL in the first game.

That's what I'm afraid of - he has the talent to stick in the NFL (especially being 6'7"), but will he hold up? I guess we'll see with Maclin out.

Momah has a chance now with 3 WR's hurt. He has made a few plays but so far Russell Sheppard and Damaris Johnson have stood out more. To be fair, Chip Kelly runs camp at such a fast pace that media guys are having trouble reporting everything so he may be doing better than anyone thinks.

Another interesting thing is Jeff Lurie admitting that if the Browns took Mcnabb in 99, he would have taken Edgerrin James.

The amount of ACL injuries seems excessive. Dan Koppen, Jeremy Maclin, etc..at least the Bears have limited injuries compared to other teams so far.
