Hopkins is a master of negating his opponent's offense. In the second Taylor fight, Taylor was able to keep Pavlik to about half his regular punch output.
Hopkins is pretty much impossible to look good against, he's just the master of dumbing down a fight to his pace. That being said, I don't think he can keep up with Pavlik's pace and don't think Bernard has it in him to go full 12 rounds anymore and win them. Actually scratch that, we already know that since the first time he fought Jermain Taylor. But at this point I don't know if he can squeak out those close decisions anymore.
It's an interesting fight but I'll take Pavlik by decision in a very ugly fight. Kind of weird how this is being considered a passover fight for Pavlik en route to Calzaghe or Abraham. I was hoping Pavlik would fight Winky but apparently negotiations didn't pan out.

Given the way he faded last fight, I'm almost inclined to agree but I won't put anything past Bernard these days. I don't think there is any shame in Pavlik taking him to decision and the thought of Bernard Hopkins getting KO'd is to difficult for me to comprehend even with his senior citizen status.
