It's just a suggestion amongst many... I know everybody wants their nationality represented. But just to add some fuel to the Canadian fire, many people outside of Canada may not know that this country has some very strong Canadian-content rules for radio broadcasts. As a result, Canadian radio stations play a LOT of Canadian music. People listening have no idea where the music comes from... they just like what they like. Many songs and bands that are WILDLY popular in Canada... also happen to be Canadian (which is not the case for other products such as Canadian film and television productions). Examples include Blue Rodeo, The New Pornographers, Tom Cochrane, Jann Arden, Sloan, and of course The Tragically Hip.
Canada has not suffered as much as the rest of the world in the recent economic downturn, and the country boasts a large upper-and middle-class population. We have money to spend on SingStar! Also, domestic success has also resulted in international popularity, resulting in superstars such as Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Neil Young, Arcade Fire, Feist, Joni Mitchell, Nickleback, Our Lady Peace, Michael Buble, and Leonard Cohen. Surely these artists are deserving of a Canadian song set?

Agreed. There's a lot of good Canadian bands.
