Yeah I feel the same way as Jeff Keighley has interviewed Gabe Newell several times on GTTV and Newell has displayed his utter distain for the PS3.
I guess he likes an easy environment to work on and doesn't like innovation and to be challenged!
Orange Box was not a good experience on the PS3 and I will always blame Valve for that! They could of done a better job.
I think if they had adopted the PS3 early on and made games like LFD on the PS3 from the beginning I think everything would be ok.
They now see the potential money that the PS3 is making and it is killing in Japan and it's the #1 console in Europe because the Europeans have good taste!
Everyone is so overly concerned about the US. The US is not the global market and Dyer at Sony indicated that they are concerned about the global market not just the US!
I think Valve is just concerned about the the US market and doesn't care if they have a global market and I guess he's ok with just be mediocre!
The PS3 is an excellent platform and we have online play and a large community! I just think it took time for Sony to get everything in place!
Look at the PS2 it's still going strong and that is 10 years later!
I just think the comments about Valve is kinda silly and it just makes me think they see dollars signs!
I know a lot of PS3 people who could care less about Valve and probably wouldn't buy their product and I'm sure that is another reason why they don't want to do PS3 support as they have pissed off the fans they did have.
That's ok the can keep making the games for the PC and that other console I'm happy with Sony's first party devs and the quality games that Sony puts out!

Valve is just interested in following the safe path!
The are starting to realize that the PS3 holds some weight now!
Here again they are looking at just the US market!
I think if they did make a game not many PS3 people would buy it as Gabe has been so hateful to the PS3!
I mean after all Valve was invited to the party but they declined the invitation and now that they realize the party is fun and making money the want to attend now!
Funny how money makes people see the light.
As a PS3 owner and game buyer, Valve listen up I WILL NOT BUY YOUR GAMES!!
And not having PS3 people buy their games they will realize they have really hurt their market by dissing the PS3!
One thing you don't do is piss of fans even if you don't have them you don't piss them off!
I feel that Valve doesn't care about PS3 and never will they only want to it to make money and line thier pockets not because they want to!
The PS3 is a fantastic machine and I only want developers who are happy and want to make good quality games on the PS3!!

It's just not that good of a game and if they did bring it out they'd just do a port of it and it wouldn't be that good!
Gabe has said the PS3 is too hard to work with and he doesn't see his company taking advantage of it anytime soon!
So I seriously doubt we will see anything from them and he knows he has pissed up PS3 people already!

If they put left 4 dead 1 & 2 on 1 blu ray Id buy it in a second.
Kudos, Ill buy it in a second too. even if its just L4D2. and really you guys are taking this a little too personal. like he didn't dis your mom, he said he doesn't like ps3. SO WHAT??? don't cry about it.

I just find it ironic that now all of a sudden the are interested in PS3 development.
Why now why not a year ago?
It has to do with money! They see the PS3 and how well it is doing and they want a piece of that pie.
I just don't like when companies says bad things about a console then turns around and embracess it like they never said anything bad.
Remember your fan base they are not so forgiving!
Gabe should of said we are not doing PS3 development at this time and we make look into in th future but he basicially dissed the PS3 and said it was not worth his time or effort!
It's not what you say it's how you say it in the context that you do! In the video game world you have to be very careful as the interent remembers a lot of things people say and do and it comes back to haunt them!
I'm just saying!

Man **bleep** Valve. They're just grubbing for money now that the global recession has started to affect the gaming industry. They've spent all this time whining about how "difficult" it is to code for PS3 while Naughty Dog, Guerilla Games and even a punk ass outfit like Ninja Theory have been able to make beautiful, fun, immersive, NON repetitive games for it.
They're a crap developer that's been riding on the coattails of Half Life since it came out. The only way I'd buy their games is if they go the next 10 years making ONLY PS exclusives and release youtube vids of their lead devs shooting a deuce on a picture of Major Nelson.
...and even then, I'd only buy their games USED, so they don't get any of my coin.

Valve is a game BUSINESS.
It's BUSINESS is to make games.
Do you seriously expect it to "care" about anything except the bottom line? Sure, making games might be a passion for individuals working for a developer, but don't ever expect the developer to invest emotion into a particular system, or target market. It's a BUSINESS, not a person. I'm not just talking about Valve here. Regardless of the company line, the mission is to make the $$.
If they make a game I like, I'll buy it. If I buy a bad game, I'll return, trade, or sell it. That way, it only generates $$ for the retail, and blocks a dollar-vote.
Getting bent over something an exec says about your console is just silly.
PS- I liked the orange box. It's a lot of game for the buck. If there's another portal, I'll snap it up.

I don't want Valve on the PS3. They are disrespectful to their customers and are just bad businessmen in general. I live in the USA, but one time I remember some high up person in Valve said that he doesn't like European people because they don't talk when they play online.
Half-Life was one of the first games that I played back in the '90s and it will always be one of my favorite games of all time, but Valve has changed so much since then and they got lots of 'splaining to do before I welcome them with open arms.
seems like the same old valve i remember.. They are in noway disrespectful to their customers.. they are a great company... they actually wanted to give free DLC to their players for l4d.. but Microsoft was too greedy to let them.
