Picked up the Fall of Cybertron game when it was first released on 08/21. My son played it continuously with no problems until a couple of days ago. Now the game freezes almost immediately and refuses to work. I tried to log on my profile and create a new game. Same problem. The PS3 is less than two months old. I inspected the disc for any scratches, dirt, etc. It looks like it just came out of the package. No other games are having problems on that console. The game works perfectly on the old PS3 console we still have and its almost 5 years old. Obviously, I'm a bit annoyed. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?

By the sound of it the problem is with the game's data file.
First of all, in case you haven't for a while, sync your trophies. Game/Trophy Collection with "Trophy Collection" selected press Triangle & on the right-hand-side panel select the sync trophies option.
Once that's done it is time to uninstall the game's data files. Go to Game/Game Data Utility Here you will find and delete all of the "Fall of Cybertron" files. The next time you run Fall of Cybertron these files will be reinstalled. Then the game will start and everything should be back to normal.
I did what you said myself but the game once again froze and now it is stuck on the first screen where's the autosave warning. I try to press x to go to the main menu but nothing happens...any other ideas?

Make sure the disc is clean and scratch free.
I've been playing the multiplayer 90% of the time and have been slowly picking away at the campaign. I've now run into a problem with the game freezing during the level where you are Megatron waiting for Shockwave to power up Trypticon. I have not been able to complete the level as it freezes either during load or at mid-point of the battle.
I have had no issues with the multiplayer online though.
