SOCOM II remade for The PlayStation 3 would be amazing. It's nice to see that everyone else on here agrees. That game was addicting. I would log on almost every night out of the week and play to about 3:00 every morning. I always logged on around 10:30-11:00 at night. That's about four and a half hours a night. With a decent size Clan that I belonged to at that time and a couple of Beers, every night was awesome; especially during the winter months when no one wanted to go out or because they had no money...lol. Confrontation went in a direction that most people don't like, including myself. The game just doesn't make sense. Slant 6 changed too much. They put things in that nobody cares about like the Party System...lol. SOCOM was never about a Party. It was logging on every night and playing with your Friends and or your Clan mates. You had Wars with other Clans, and win or lose, you had a great time no matter what. There's one question that keeps coming to mind. Actually there are a few that come to mind; not only to myself, but to others as well. How did games like SOCOM & SOCOM II (forget SOCOM 3 & Combined Assault; those were the beginning of the downfall of this franchise) become to be what they became? How did they obtain the huge following that they had. Why was everything from navigating through the menus to the actual gameplay so much easier when compared to Confrontation? The way the games played, "The Weapons", "The Maps", even "The Music" being better, are all factors to the success of those games. What makes it more mind boggling is that all of this was done on the PlayStation 2. When comparing the PlayStation 2 to the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation 3 dominates. Everything from the enhanced memory, enhanced processors to the expanded internal hard drive, blow the PlayStation 2 out of the water. What makes it even funnier, is that all of those things that made those games a huge success, were accomplished on the now inferior PlayStation 2. It's going to take a long time for this franchise to make a comeback in my eyes. I hate saying it, but Slant 6 really dropped the ball on this project. Nothing against them, but they should've taken more time and researched everything more thoroughly. They should've taken on smaller projects first to get their feet wet. I commend them on taking on such a vast task, but in the end, the consumers are the ones that will speak their minds. They say they put these forums and blogs up here to hear everyones feedback about the game. I'm sure by now they realize what they have gotten themselves into. They want to know what we think, well all they have to do is read and listen to what we have to say. If they read and if they listen and if they are willing to fulfill the consumers wishes and or demands, there still might be hope for this franchise. I really hope SOCOM comes back from the dead. I really hope it becomes what it once was. I know not only myself, but everyone else would be thoroughly pleased...
