M8 or M4?

I've heard a lot of arguments from both sides about this, but which one is a better gun for close range? Specifically Market Day.

Ehh... I don't really like either... I'd rather stick with a SFCR-LW.

Most people use the M4 mainly because it's beter. Although, when I played for about 5 months, I used the M8 well. But now I only use the M4...it's all preference.

I used to be king with the XM8. But then I decided to use the SCAR-LW. Now I'm not too good with it. But M4 is better, has a higher rate of fire and can shoot longer distances. Yea, I snipe with it. But I do like the XM8.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf mutes

I like the M8 on Marketday. I have never been able to kill anyone with the M4A1.

M4, but unsupressed

So far I'm getting mixed results. Some don't use either, others only the M4, and still others the M8. When I started trying them the M8 seemed to work better for me, but I haven't used it a whole lot yet.
