To think 8 years of decreasing popularity and sales and yet none of the big brains at Sony stopped to think how can we avoid this. Sony was so awestruck with the greed for first person shooters that in the end they lost more than they gained. What makes more sense Sony, maintaining a few million or having none of them?
Sony I have to say why have different genres if your not going to truly cater to them? Besides not keeping your product alive now you have ended the servers for the classic socoms. Yet great decision making isn't your strong point is it Sony? LOL In my whole life never have I seen a company hate the very people who its trying to attract! Well Sony here we are with nothing good to speak of. Sony you have successfully killed off a game and its fanbase.
Normally I would offer advice but this late in the game I am sure it would fall on deaf ears. My hatred has finally subsided because of Sony's stupidity and now I am looking towards the future. I can only hope that someone smart have the desire to build a 3rd person socom like game, for this is still a great open field genre and there are people who desire this type of game.
One can only hope that there still is a future. If this happens I will see you there if not then see you in the funny papers!
Lastly Sony I want to say you SUCK! Yep that about sums it up. Later folks.............

My apologies. I have written a lot and can't remember what I have said. Either way doesn't sway how Sony treated us and their game. Here we are and instead of a game to play we have had 8 years of ignorance. I am also amazed how you can still worry about how or what I say when Sony is the true culprit here. Where is your priorities?
Goes to show you that you the younger generation follow as sheep rather than to stand apart as an individual. So who is the real problem? That is something you need to ask yourselves. Well good luck either way and have fun here with this dead community and game.

well sony is not really the problem in this 100%. they alwys bring a old ip back after sometime.. Its going to be a long wait though i suppose.. If sony was the main culprit they would shut the server down along time ago. and socom franchise would have ended a long time ago.. Zipper had like 100 chances
ZIpper was nvr profitable for sony. only mag was a profit. maybe socom psp's which is not enought to cover the the 10-100 mill or more they poured in to the games.. If it dont sell its getting canned no matter how good it is( which i think kinda subjective and wrong), Buts its a buisness at the end of the day..Its zipper fault really, they shouldnt have did a 100% sellout of the company when they should have just made the ip games exclusive to sony in a partnership and made other game that where multi plat on pc and else where.. Again i dont know why they did 100% sale of zipper, its more to it than anyone knows and it doesnt really matter at this point in time. But it came back to haunt them as well the fans of there games.
What sony is doing is waiting it out with socom , letting the damage of the brand stall out. Getting socom off the customers mind, then when they think its ready to return, they will bring the brand back under better leader ship, in a better fashion ( How? i do not know).. So in small they respecting the long time& new fans fans wants and needs in the matters in a buisness way. ( Cleansing the brand)
Socom franchise right now is awful as brand with little or no equity to sony. Its striaght awful on both sides of the ball , its not a dragon ball z which has millions in brand equity and they can afford to just make games off the name some good and some bad, ( please note socom did this and it didnt work out to well) .Sony is not going to rushout another socom with brand damage, its not good idea the ligering effect of the last title will be there. No one is going to buy a destroyed brand, maybe out of hope or false hope of changes to it. The majority of the time its the wrong kind of changes or something un needed.
This is my assuption and feeling on the topic matter. But i do agree its a huge lost in the market for shooter, but time heals all things, We are just going to have to wait and see if its true for socom franchise.

No point of ranting now. I mean Since Socom 3 it's been a different socom. They haven't cared since they were bought. Just like anything thats bought by a major corperation changes will be made. Sadly for the worse and we got S4. All we can do is hope to see an HD. Getting mad and upset now is a lost cause. I agree what you said but just like the 9999 other post about nothing will be done.

Who hasn't cared? Zipper? I think once zipper got acquired by Sony they figured they were safe and didn't need to do anything special to keep in business. No need to do a good job when you are guaranteed a paycheck.
if you are talking about Sony buying the socom IP, well, they have always owned that, since the very first one.

Yes I mean when Zipper was acquired fully by Sony.
