Re: CS:GO

Jul 24, 2012
No run button, ads (socom style), no killstreaks, no perks, one life rounds, fast but tactical gameplay, 90% of people use mics, great communication, great teamwork, lobbies, ucrr, maps based on one mode, no aim assist, no nube toobs, vote system, unranked respawn, great devs, great engine, extremely competitive, one side named "terrorists", and more great tactical features. This is cs, for those of you that don't know socom was based off cs.

Looks ok but I don't know how much team work you will get in rounds under 2 mins. They have added ranked respawn mode and a casual mode I think. Guess we will have to wait and see how many play the correct modes lol

What is the big deal with a run button or ADS? S4 had it but you didn't need to use it unless they were at range.

I never tried COD SND on MW3 but I own it so I am gonna give it a go this weeked. DT said there is a SND with no perks is that true?

Weren't you here just a few weeks ago attacking anyone that even suggested CS:GO looked ok or weren't that interested in it?

Just so you know, most rounds on SOCOM 1 and 2 ended in under two minutes.

Just my 2 cents here.
Been playing CS 1.6, CSS, and now have the CS GO beta on PC.
For us PC counter strike fans, CS GO is to 1.6 as Socom 4 is to Socom 2.

Why do you say that?

execrate cs has 5min rounds, lol. I like how you make stuff up, tho. You watched a few of the fast paced rounds on youtube and said " wurs tha campin? thats wur tha tatics are :smileysad: " . Most cs players don't camp as often as socum4 players, so i'm sure you'll get voted plenty, when you try to lay in a corner for the full 5min. Camping isn't a tactic it's called being too fat to use your thumbs.

If you've never played counter strike before on a PC, you'll probably like it. I never played Socom 1-Confrontation so I can't miss what I never experienced.

But here is the reasons I don't like CS GO, however, its still in beta, but its near completion now.

-Character model is too big relative to the maps, many doorways are just possible to fit through. CS 1.6 had smaller character models and better scaled maps.

-Mouse feels sluggish no matter what settings you use, source and CS 1.6 feels responsive like the gun is in your hand almost. Though for PS3/XBox this shoudln't be an issue, unless the control sticks will feel sluggish.

-Movement feels somewhat sluggish.

-Characters blend in too well with background.

-During the beta phase, they want from totally unpredictable recoil to almost no recoil, no its somewhere in middle, closer to the unpredictable side.

-m4 is vastly underpowered compared to ak 47, and Counter Terrorists have only access to bu m4. In CS 1.6 and source, ak 47 had great power but high recoil if you didn't burst right, m4 had lower power but could spray a bit more with it. Now, the m4 feels like the Ak except has a lot less power.

-Sound is totally messed up. Even with good earphones, you can't tell which direction they're coming from. No problem of this in 1.6 or CSS.

Browse through the steam forums if you want to get a feel of what people think about the game.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=1188

HPE ruined the game, F*** Valve for outsourcing it, HPE also ruined CSS now with crappy updates.

BTW, rounds are 2 minutes, there's a two minute timer, the team who didn't complete all their objectives loses the round if the timer rounds out and there's still enemy players left.

But if you are actually serious about competitvely playing CS GO on the PS3, you will have to play with a keyboard and mouse, since Valve set there will be no assists for controllers, and keyboard/mouse is much better for playing fps games then controller.

I said nothing bad and here you running your mouth like a little kid. Everyone knows most rounds don't clear 2 minutes.

This is just wrong, wrong, wrong, but a comparison I expect from someone that has, admittedly, not played S2 before.

The biggest issues S2 fans had with S4 is that S4 was a completely new game. It was SOCOM in name only, and nothing else.

As such, Valve/HPE would have to do the following for the PC version of CSGO to make this valid:

1. Remove custom servers (S4 was completely dependent on matchmaking, whereas in S2 you could create custom games).

2. Replace the current money system with a weapon progression system (In S2, all guns were unlocked, but S4 introduced the stupid CODified weapons progression system for guns and attachments).

3. Remove demolition from the game, so they can sell it back to you later as DLC (Demo has been a default mode of SOCOM since the beginning, but Zipper decided to remove it in S4 knowing full well they planned on using it to poach more money from us later).

4. Add a cover system to CSGO and also allow you to pre-aim (with full crosshairs).

5. Add ADS for all weapons, and state you don't have to use it, but players will know you're going to get mowed down if you stick with hipfire.

When all 5 of those things are done to CS:GO, then you can say that. I've been following all the feedback on the Steam forum since this beta started (still haven't gotten a key yet grrrrr!), and to be honest, most of the complaints revolve around technical issues. In that sense, the CSGO to CS 1.6 comparison is more applicable to the S2 to Confrontation scenario (which I would not expect you to understand, as you have not played either S2 or Con).

One thing that is definitely true though, is that 1.6 fans and S2 fans are exactly the same. No game, except for a "prettier" version of their preferred title, will ever be enough for them. And even then, they will just complain about the game not being pushed ahead far enough (re: Counter-Strike Condition Zero).

I'm not bashing you personally, but nobody but SOCOM fans even have a clue as to what we've been through these past 10 years. The problems CS 1.6 fans have with GO are problems the SOCOM community can only WISH we had with S4.
