I've played Persona 3, Persona 4, and P3P. Also I've played 4 hours of Persona 2. I love the Persona franchise and it is one of my all-time favorite JRPG franchises. Not to mention Atlus is one of my most respected, awesome, and trustworthy game company. It would be a dream if I was able to work with them on a game.
It's only $10 on PSN so I highly suggest playing it. Trust me you won't regret it. If you have a Vita you might want to check out Persona 4 The Golden coming out November because it's been one of Vita's biggest titles so far.

you dont really have to play the other games to understand the story in final fantasy either.....they kind of each exsist in their own universe
