I think there's really three sides - the "good", the "evil", and the truth. With games, it's up to the player to piece together the events as they occur in the game, and then focus on the big picture. IMO, the hardest thing to overcome in rpgs is having preconceptions of what "good" and "evil" are... one simply doesn't know if the character is acting in the best interest of the world, or if he or she is acting on his or her own self interests, and the developers seldom take that into consideration - the player is expected to see just one side of the story. Perhaps that is what rpgs are missing... the ability to switch sides during the course of the game.

There is always two sides to an RPG or any kind of game or movie for that matter. There is always a Good side and an Evil side, but are they really evil or good? To the opposing team it would seem that they are evil, but are they? Take for example, Sephiroth. He wants to give the planet back to the Cetra, he thinks that it's a good idea, he thinks he's doing the right thing. He thinks he's the good guy and Cloud's the "Evil one", if you catch my drift... I don't really think that there is true evil. I think that "evil" is purely based on opinion. I think that "Evil" is what we make of it. What do you guys think?
