Re: Turn-Based or Real time

Feb 25, 2006
I've always been more into real time. Turn-based does provide strategy, but it's more life-like to me when everything happens first hand and on impact. I'm more of a spur of the moment kind of guy, so mainly that adds to it a lot! The only reason I am probably going to be buying Final Fantasy XII is because of the battle system.

See the thing is in XII it seems as though (atleast in the demoes) it is some combination of atb and real time. it stops when you are selecting which ability you are about to use.

you just move in 3-d around the mob during the battle instead of not like ATB.

or...is that the only difference between atb and real time?

In XII, it all depends if you choose Wait or Active. If you choose Active it's all real time. Real Time is always constant, so if you choose Wait in Final Fantasy XII, it's basically a mixture.

I like both real time and turn based. I play real time more because the gameplay is quite often fantastic., I play turnbased more for the stories

Strategy with a battle grid. But since that wasn't a choice, turn based would be the only way to go.
