Another good read on Suikoden 5. Although I really have to question (again lol) the need to say something like "the graphics are passable". If the game is fun and has improved over the last 2 and has a more interesting story, no one that has been waiting for this cares what it looks like. Nor should anyone who hasn't. Silly IMO but whatever.

They should stop scoring games based upon graphics. If you have to score it based on graphics, then the game isn't worth the $50 or $60 you pay for it. Graphics should be an extra for most games. I understand that it is important in Shooters, but games where the story and gameplay make or break the game shouldn't have the score of the game be brought up or down because of the graphics. As I have stated before, people who worry more about graphics than story and/or gameplay should really re-examine if they are a real gamer or not.

Unfortunately a lot of kids getting into games look at graphics only and not really into the gameplay, that trend I suspect will continue until developers realize that you need more than fluff to have a successful game.

The thing is, the graphics for Suikoden V are actually really good.  I don't think people realize that Konami was trying to make the 3D graphics resemble 2D graphics, which is why they went with the odd camera angle and the less-detailed character models.  But there's so much color, the detail is amazing (just walking through the Sun Palace or in Raftfleet is stunning thanks to all the reflections and shadows), and during battle/cutscenes, the character models are great.  Sure, they aren't as realistic as FFXII's graphics, but that wasn't their purpose.  They have a great style, even better than III's style (which I just loved).  It's a cross between cell-shaded and regular 3D models, really quite beautiful.

They haven't said what it was.  All they said was that they are making an RPG for Microsoft's Xbox 360, and it will be published by Microsoft.

Awww.......  I wish I still had my Cube. Multi-player mini games, fun new leisurely activities, and a new approach to the HM story!  Boy, I wish Natsume brings this one to the PS2 like they did with AWL.
