I have an interesting view of the whole Turn Based debate.
cynan48 wrote:Ok so me and another gamer at work have wildly different views on rpg's, to the extent that him and his little henchman have created a turn based battle dance the just love to tease me with. It's amazing to me how someone who has little to no experience with a genre can attempt to summarize it so easily. As I saw elsewhere in this forum KH is a perfect example no wait timers there.... Further to the point what is wrong with turn based anyways? Isn't the emphasis more on character development and storyline even dare I say a bit of strategy? If memory serves wasn't one of the best, if not the best seller, on ps1 a turned based rpg...... I don't think on this forum I need to name what that game was Suffice to say it will hopefully make a reappearance on ps3, and already has in movie format....kinda. Anyways I reckon this is getting into a bit of a disjointed rant, to which I apologize. Anyways anyone else ever feel this way, finding themselves defending there favorite genre of game?

What do you mean no experience with RPG’s I was beating Zelda before you could pick up a
a joystick...LOL...I agree that character and plot development are important that’s why I played through God of war which he referred to as a "mindless button masher" but to me the tbs is very monotonous and uninteresting I want my games to be about action I can walk around and talk to people without a video game but its hard to find a 2000 foot tall god to pick on.....
