The reason I ask is that there is a RBN song I want ("Strobe Lights" by Kill Hannah) that was released on Dec. 6, 2010, but it is not on the PSN.

It is, however, apparently available on the other console's RBN store.

Rock Band Network runs on XNA's backbone.  Sony limits the songs to 5 per week.  Complain to them.  Sorry.

Due to the licensing agreement that HMX and Microsoft made to allow the RBN to utilize the XNA service, the minimum time for a song to be brought over to the PS3 or Wii is 30 days.  However, as iruhlman mentioned, Sony limited the RBN releases to 5 songs per week, so it will likely take even longer to come over.

not really the case.  Of 800 songs i think 200 are metal.  So not even close to half.
