Theres really no way to continue the story line, I wont spoil anything, but yea theres no way to continue that... Noone wants to play as Jack, thats all Ill say. But... I do think they could do a prequel of sorts, or something... This is by far my all time favorite game and I would love some kind of follow up, but nothing has been announced so Im not sure they will :\

H3LL YES.
YES.
My answer is 'yes'. Yes, I believe that Rockstar should make another Red Dead. Man, I'd pay $85 or more for another chance to civilize the savages & misfits of the western frontier. So far, I've put in nearly 72 hours of gaming on RDR and I'm still only 56% through (I'm on pace to get around 130 hours of gameplay for just $40 - the price I paid for it in February). The game is amazing; it rivals GTA
A in activity level. There's so much that you can do; you're in control at almost every turn. It's a great game with a strong framework which can be duplicated & altered into many more games in a long series.
For the guy who posted above me...thanks for the spoiler prevention. As far as the storyline, I really don't think it's as big of a deal as you and others make it out to be. Nobody plays a game for its storyline; there are books for that. People play video games for one purpose only: to have fun. If they wanted to create another game in the series then all they'd need to do is get some new characters with a new plot (because the game is already fun). These are the same people who made GTA.
Tommy Vercetti's story pretty much came to an end after GTA3. Yet they managed to get another game out of him by moving him to Miami and rolling the clock back to the 1980s for Vice City. After that they moved to LA for CJ. For GTAIV, they went back to the big apple for Niko Bellic (and destroyed the game while at it - IMO). Plus there were about 5 spin-off games throughout the journey. And as the years passed more and more people were gaining interest in the GTA series. The Red Dead series could easily follow those same footsteps and get close to the same level of success.
Long story short. Yes, they should make another red dead. They've perfected the foundation, all they need to do is keep building.

I agree with what you say about spinoffs... Think of all the characters they could do dlc add-ons for side stories... Like Miss McFarlane, Seth, Wes Dickens and especially Landon Ricketts!! Hes got a big past to him, that I think would make the absolute best follow up to this is going back to his hay-day and telling his tale of a miraculous journey. But, the unfortunate part being after the release of Red Dead Redemption, they released a complete list of dlc and that all ended a while ago. And theyve been in no talks whatsoever of a new one. Unfortunately, with all the rumors spreading Id be willing to bet theyd come out with Grand Theft Auto 5 before another RDR.... which I disagree with, but hey what does my ONE opinion matter anyways right?

In designing another Red Dead game, I figure it wouldn't have any significant ties to the other games, as the two out already aren't connected in any serious way. Like a Final Fantasy, it would be good having another Red Dead set elsewhere at another distinct point in the Old West.
With a fresh cast of characters, with a new story and backdrop, with tweaked gameplay mechanics (especially dumping the repetition), I think it would be swell if Rockstar San Diego were to retune their engine and establish the very best Red Dead that we have yet to lay eye on. I'd love riding into the sunset yet again, all depending on if the team can pull it off.

I think that they would create "Red Dead Revision" a remake of Red Dead Revolver with better graphics and new features. And of course multiplayer. this would most likely be the new Red Dead.
