ive been on the phone with both rockstar and Playstation about this freezing issue... \

mine began 2 days after the release ...

i can now play 3 to 5 mins and then the freezing process starts..

sometimes it just freezes up while riding , other times its the drop of NPC voice tracks and then a crash

and other times it occures as when you access the start button menu and nothing will be there except the back ground splash screen.

  the kicker is that when i called and spoke to both parties... neither had a clue about this issues and both put me on hold for several mins to "look into" this problem and both came to me with no resolve or any other reports of this issue being filed.

This is ridiculous. Every 5 to 60 minutes my screen feezes and it takes a hard reset to fix it. the screeen freezes but the background music keeps playing. I am loving the game when I can play it but it is incredibly frustrating to have to keep resetting. I wish R* would acknowledge that there is an issue and work with us, the consumers, to fix it.

Mine locks everytime i exit muliplayer at the loading screen....just says it's loading for like 10min.....Also, if use dead eye on and off real fast, the framerate drops to like 2fps and the playstation just resets

i think my problem with not being able to move my character had something to do with me leaving it on pause for a long time. i dont do that anymore and it hasnt happen since. as for the freezing that everyone is having. it hasnt happen to me at all. i have 21 hrs offline and 11 hrs online played so far. my fan has never gotten loud either and load times are fine. im play on a first gen 60 and an 80. hopefully it never happens (knock on wood)

Ive been playing for awhile and reached blackwater and have only had a freezing scare once.

*SPOILER*

It was after you catch williamson and kill him, my screen just froze but I waited like 4 mins and the cut screen came on! *phew*

Usually when I enter a dual, although last night it was in the middle of a gun fight in one of Seth's mission.

Launch 60gb. No overheating issues.

For now anyway.....

The game froze on me twice and when it did it was during a lot of chaos and frame dips in Thieves Landing, but after that, no freezing since.  I haven't had to uninstall and reinstall the game data either.  The game hasn't froze on me in a few days and I've been putting in double digit hours with this game.  Since it's a Rockstar game I expect it to freeze though, but thankfully, as of late, it hasn't......at least for now anyway.....

You're the first person in this thread to have the same issue as me. My movement controls freeze usually after a cut scene and after I let the controller sleep; I can go into the menu, use the PS3 buttn, but can't control the character on screen. It's happened at least 5 times, and always at the worst of times. ANNOYING!!!
