Secret Agent Clank™ Exploration Thread

**This thread is now on the Ratchet and Clank Community Forum**
**It will now only be updated here**

Secret Agent Clank™ Exploration Thread

Basic Information

Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment

Developer: High Impact Games

Gamesite: None so far

Genres: Action, Platformer

ESRB: RP

Platforms: Sony Playstation Portable

Release: Secret Agent Clank is scheduled to be released sometime in Fall or Summer of 2008.

Story

Ratchet is framed/accused for a crime he didn't do. To save his friend, Clank dons the tuxedo and equipment of his favorite alter ego, Secret Agent Clank, and investigates who's behind the accusations. Along the way, he learns and acquires new abilities, such as Clank-Fu, which he'll use against his opponents.

Characters

Clank-Embarking upon his first solo adventure, Clank will be the main spotlight. Throughout his quest, he'll learn to take his robotic potential to the best.

Qwark- The wannabe hero returns, helping Clank bring Ratchet back to justice. He too, will be playable.

Weapons

Clank will gain access to new weapons, such as bow tie boomerangs and cuff link bombs. I have seen a weapon in a video preview showing a venus flytrap like weapon Clank deployed against a few enemies. Quark has been seen using a blaster type weapon and also a vacuum type weapon against the boss known as "Jack."

Gadgets

Jet boots-The Rocket Boots allow Clank to zoom over areas, obstacles, and many other barriers. If used i timed pressing, they can be used to stomp on enemies and other objectives.

Environments/Levels/Planets

Not too many environments have been shown in the game so far, but two levels are for certain: Neon Metropolis and The Artificial History Museum.

Neon Metropolis-Here, Clank will navigate himself on the roofs of Kerwan's renowned city.

Artificial History Museum-A highly-secured museum, where Clank's goal is to recover a historical, mysterious gem.

Enemies and Bosses

Ninjas

Jack-better known as "the Jack of all Trades" is a casino dealer that'll challenge Clank and Qwark with missiles and lasers.

Some of Jack's attacks include:

-Launches superheated cards with accuracy.
-Some of his other weapons include global heat-seeking blade bombs, and range bombs as well.
-Under one segment, Qwark distracts Jack, while Clank chases him into a possible trap.

Additional Game Information

-Turns out that Qwark is also working on his biography for reporters, and keeps taking all of Clank's credit, as well.

-Clank will also have upgradable powers and Clank-Fu, as well as weapons.

-Playable charcters include Ratchet, Clank, and Qwark.

Boss Battles-Curiously, Clank doesn't tackle himself. Instead, the series' bumbling secondary character, Captain Quark, performs these sequences instead, But, of course, we have only seen one boss battle so far, so this is only speculation

RPG Dialogues-RPG Dialogues and Interactive Cutscenes will be featured (similiar to -- SAMPLE).

Ask High Impact-Ask High Impact Games any question you have about their upcoming title.

Tools of Destruction Connectivity- Turns out that Secret Agent Clank will be able to connect with ToD for additional content.

Thread Management

With school going on and all the homework that comes along with it, I'll try to update this as frequently as possible when I get the time. With that in mind, I'm making WARSOUND a thread managers. If I feel that other PSU members could be a thread manager, I will notify them via PM seeing if they're interested in the job

Re: Secret Agent Clank™ Exploration Thread

Nice to see one of these threads. Good job. HIG didn't disappoint me with Size Matters, so I have the feeling this will be a fun inducer as well. The only thing I wish they would change is the way the enemies are designed.

High Impact Games made a very Ratchety game before, they can do so again. I know it seems weird due to how "Jack" looks and is named, and some of the enemy designs are well "meh", but it can't be judged by that.

I hope this will be as good as carbonox_ratchet and WARSOUND's threads. I'm already sure it will do good.

Once some more info is out, I'm sure it will boom.

EDIT: http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3162960

It's one of the more elaborate previews that I've seen so far. So Clank won't tackle boss battles? I know he's pint-sized, but it's just a dumb excuse for his gameplay specials to be limited because of it. I would also like to see enemies that don't look like from a Spyro game. It's still good-looking, though.

No boss battles? No game has much of a challenge without boss battles. That is a big disappointment.
