,Don't bother crash landing, jump out and spare your self...  Hoverships are a great strategic tool, as you can easily blow bridges out with them, disallowing someone on a turbo slider to rush to your base, and drive straight to it... He'll have to get out, use his swingshot, and get his butt kicked on the other side of the bridge ;P
