MotorTrend, Car and Driver, or Road and Track?

9 replies 1 views Edited Feb 5, 2007
So, I was looking into getting a subscription to a print car magazine, since I like cars.  So far, I only have a subscription to Winding Road (which is free, and honestly, very good).  Since the prices for all of the ones I'm interested in are about the same, I was wondering if any of you could tell me which is the best.

Motor Trend: $10.00 ($0.83/issue)
Car and Driver: $11.97 ($1.00/issue)
Road and Track: $11.97 ($1.00/issue)

(These prices are from Amazon.com for a one year subscription).  So, suggestions please?

NOTE: Yes, this is a repost from the Off Topic section.  I didn't get very many replies there, so I'm hoping that the car enthusiasts in here can help.

Road and Track and Car & Driver are almost exact same, but the reviews on Car & Driver are much more in depth then Road and Track. Road and Track is more for the younger crowed, where as Car & Driver is made for all ages.

But my personal fav. is Car & Driver.

R&T seems to be the least biased nowadays. They gave me a free subscription and it wasn't bad.
The other 2 seem heavily biased towards imports.

Actually it was kinda weird. I had ordered a head unit for my Camaro from Crutchfield about 1 1/2-2 years ago when I got a free magazine and they said that they were gonna give me a free 1 year subscription just for that. I guess it was to see if I liked it and would continue my subscription.
I just found it awkward that so long after I ordered something they were gonna give me a free subscription. But it was pretty good. Most of the write ups were pretty good (save for the issue they had a "head to head rivals" in which they did the Ford GT and F430 and didn't even test the cars, basically just reviewed their looks ).
But I know the other mags just piss me off sometimes with their crap about American cars being so much worse. Just my personal opinion, but it is resounded around the net.

If you're a student, I know ussmag.com gives some good discounts. Something like a year for $10 or so.
