we play for about 5 minutes, single and multiplayer, and get read error messages. very frustrating because the 5 minutes are awesome.

I was having trouble with blur not being able to get on the server.  I tried everything and it didnt work.  Finally i went into my router settings(i have a verizion fios router) and restored it to default settings.  It worked!

I had my first issue today...first cars were kinda popping (there were 19 in the race) and then all of a sudden there were like 8-9 cars in a turn and my whole game froze...had to turn off my PS3 and turn it back on.

 

But overall...I think online has worked great IMO.

OK, went out and bought blur on a recommendation, came home, played a little single P, then went online and raced a couple races and it was really fun. Told two of my buddies to go get it, they will LOVE it, they did and now for the last week none of us can get online - Servers not available? We are all in LA area, all on Time warner broadband and no one has ever had any issues with any other game and I got my PS3 the month they originally came out... very frustrating.

Point is, not only can I not play online, I have a LOT of anger being generated towards me right now cause they both dont really like the SP,.,LOL

i can connect to servers, but it keeps kicking me out. i know when it is about to kick me out when all the other cars start leaping around.

I HAD SAME PROBLEM AS WELL BUT IVE FIGUIRED OUT THE WHERE THE PROBLEM LIES 
ON THE PS3 IN INTERNET/ NETWORK SETTINGS DO A CONNECTION TEST,,,,,,
THEN WHERE IT SAYS  ""NAT TYPE - ????""
IT NEEDS TO SAY "TYPE 3" FOR BLUR TO CONNECT TO SERVERS....
NOW THE WAY I GOT THAT TO NAT TYPE TYPE 3 IS BY SIMPLY TURNING MY WIRELESS ROUTER ON THEN OFF AND/OR PRESSING THE BUTTON ON IT. AND THEN PEFORMING THE TEST ON THE PS3 AGAIN JUST TO CHECK IT HAS GONE NAT TYPE 3.......
I DID HOWEVER PHONE UP ACTIVISION ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THIS IS THE EMAIL THEY SENT ME.....BUT ONLY FOLLOW THEIR INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER MY SOLUTION AS IT LOOKS PRETTY INTRICATE..
PS TELL EVERYONE WHO'S GOT THE BLUR GAME ABOUT THIS THREAD OR FORWARD IT AS THERE'S LESS THAN 1000 PEOPLE ON-LINE

If you are having a problem connecting to an online game game, check the following:
Disable any firewall or security features within your router 
Set port forwarding on your router to the IP address of your Playstation 3. This game uses ports 3074, 3075(UDP) and ports 80, 443, 5223(TCP). You should also assign your Playstation 3 a static IP address inside your home network, this will help ensure that the configurations you made do not need to be redone. You can get instructions for this at http://portforward.com/ or your internet provider. 
Once you have verified that your network setup is not the cause of the issue you can try the following.
- Try connecting to a different server. Some servers may have other players connected to them that you do not have an optimal connection with.
- Back out to the main menu and select Multiplayer and then attempt to join a game.
