Re: I got my 99% - yay!

Thanks, everyone.

I got GT2 last and that was after I injured the radial nerve in my right thumb.
Without a PS1 wheel, I don't know how soon I'll finish either GT or GT2.

GT3 didn't have the finish glitch, it was 2 of the 3 GT2 versions, so I should have no problem finishing PS3, some day.

In the meantime, I will work my way back up in GT4. I just need to be more careful.
It's not as if there is a great hurry to finish before GT5 is here, either.

Cheers,

Cheers,

When I had my impacted wisdom teeth removed, the orthodontist inadvertently injured my peripheral nerve ending in my thumb of my left hand with the anesthesia needle.  This affected me for about 6-8 weeks before I started to notice some improvement ( eventually, after about 6 months, I regained full feeling in my thumb).  Does the radial nerve regenerate the same way??

You're right, I forgot about that...thank you for correcting my temporary brain lapse.   Heh, Heh, this would be a "Truism", not a "Falsehood". By the looks of things, now, it may be another 18 months before the release of GT5....at least it would give them(PD) time to "clean up their act" and get in touch with the comments on the SCEA Boards.
Cordially,

Yes, I could last about 20 minutes on the DS2 when GT4 first came out, but I haven't tested using the controller much since, at least not during racing. The nerve may be better now.

It will be a slow recovery (that's the bad news), but since the nerve will regenerate, you will have a 100% use of your thumb. (that's the good news).

Good luck and speedy healing.
Cordially,

How long does it actually take in the game? (I hope not 6 hours)

I would bet it takes around six hours. If you have never played GT4 before, consider yourself lucky. There are three 24 hour endurance races in the game. It's not determined by a set number of laps, it's a timed race. So the faster car you use doesn't necessarily mean the faster you'll get done. It's quite the long haul.

You could B-Spec the 24 hour races, but that would still take about 10 hours.
