EA is in trouble. Well, at least its stock is, but people are dumping it for a reason, and it remains to be seen how they turn that situation around.
So, will Electronic Arts finally lose its firm grip on the Porsche brand in racing games?

Honestly good question. It's really hard to tell, with Criterion taking over the Need for Speed series one could only speculate. They lost their nascar license so it could be a possibility that Porsche may not be exclusive to EA in the future. On a personal note it would be nice to see Porsche in other titles produced by other companies instead of just exclusive to EA.

Porsche has always been rather a loose canon when it comes to it's appearances in games. Not really sure if people care enough when they will finally break free and run wild. But could this mean that Gran Turismo 6 will have Porsche instead of RUF? That could get interesting.

A better question is how important is it to Electronic Arts to hang on to Porsche? Porsche existed and has done very well for itself for nearly 50 years before video games. Their sales and reputation don't hinge on whether or not someone plays Need For Speed or Gran Turismo .
It's a bigger selling point for Electronic Arts, Polyphony Digital, or any other game maker for that matter, to have Porsche in their games, than it is for Porsche to be in their games.

Load of bollocks if you ask me. Then again, we did see Porsche in Forza, but not in GT. Could GT6 have Porsche? I think it could. Sony just needs to stop hiding in the shadows. Then again, GT5 was missing far more then simply Porsche.
