This story won't be what you expect it to be.
It is the story of a dying dog recounting his life, through his eyes, and the life of his master. There are a few driving tips every now and then, so it is racing related, but it is not the total substance of this book.
It also has some adult dialogue in it, so children should be directed elsewhere, but it is like no other story I can think of. I found it to be very interesting.

Yes GT you are right! This is really one of my all time favorites. Patrick Dempsy, actor / race driver / team owner was so moved by this book he is producing, directing, and staring in the film version out next year. The only book that has really has ne laughing in one chapter and crying the next. If this book does'nt move you a little your heart has been replaced by an old bias ply!

Thanks for the tip about the movie!
I was not aware of it before.
IMDb indicates that it will be out in 2014.
